"A stale kitchen smell hung around the reception and permeated the building. No lights were on and it was like entering a dark cave. I normally like quaint old hotels but this was just down at heel and dispiriting. The photographer must be very clever as the reality was dismal. The sauna was an extra 55 Euros so we didnt use it and didn't eat there as the stale smell was so unappetising. We would not have stayed except that we had booked and paid in advance."

Rooms did get a bit warm and we were there when it was slightly cooler out, but windows could open adequately enough to get a breeze. It's a bit remote, which we read in another review so we expected that, but can feel a little isolating. The little town is great."

"The room was clean with tea/coffee making facilities. A good view of the town. The attached restaurant was very nice, as was the food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh with fresh bread, cheeses, coffee, juices, cold meat selection, jams, yoghurt. Very nice. Bathroom very clean and heating was very welcome on a very cold day."
