Villa With Private Pool In The Heart Of The Chianti Region

"San Piero Terra is a wonderful old property full of charm and character with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our party of 8 adults. It is well appointed with everything needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The pool definitely helped to keep us all cool in the heatwave and the gardens offered plenty of shade when required too. The villa is in a very quiet rural location, a 10 minute stroll from the pretty village with a couple of bars, shops, restaurants and a small supermarket with Montevarchi just a 25 minute drive away offering larger supermarkets and shopping and train links to further afield. It is perfectly placed to visit Sienna (50 mins drive) Florence (1 hr drive) Pisa (2 hour drive) and San Merino (3 hour drive) all well worth a visit. The view of the Tuscan landscape is beautiful, looking across the vineyards to Castello Di Meleto which offers tours around the castle and wine tasting, an experience we very much enjoyed. The castle is a half hour walk up a hill but the views are definitely worth the climb and the restaurant halfway home is a welcome pitstop! On arrival, we were welcomed by Vincenzo who looked after us very well, as did the neighbour who came to check on us after a particularly spectacular thunderstorm. All in all, Gaiole in Chianti is a wonderful place to experience and explore the culture, food and wines of Tuscany and I would thoroughly recommend this Villa to relax and exploreThanks Ilaria for a wonderful family holiday"

"Loved this boutique property. Stayed five nights in the newer section, Le Noci, and would love to go back. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful. The pool was stunning. The room was large, comfy, and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and eating on the outside terrace was wonderful as the view was incredible. The only downside was the restaurant over at the older section. Would not recommend as the waitress was rude/pushy (made the evening uncomfortable) and the food was just okay. Would recommend going to nearby Radda or Gaiole instead. Highly recommend Il Papavero in Barbischio, a few minutes east of Gaiole. The dinner we had there was the best and a highlight of the trip."
