Beautiful room with comfortable amenities. Breakfast included was a nice bonus. Location was good for day trips along the Rhine valley, and proximity to the ferry and train was a plus. The town is quaint and the wineries on the hillside are picturesque.

Spent a hot weekend at the hotel am markt. The hotel is in a perfect location, near all the sights in the charming town of Bacharach, Germany. The room had great AC which was perfect as the days were hot and the nights were warm. Our reservation included breakfast as well which had a nice selection of breakfast foods.

Old country charm, clean rooms, located in the center of town, within walking distance from the train station. The only negative for me was no elevator, only because I brought luggage that was too heavy. Carry on luggage would have been a better choice.

We had the very top floor rooms. I was a bit worried they’d be hot directly beneath the roof, but they were nice and cool. There was a/c which could be turned on or off but not adjusted. If you need to be in an ice locker for comfort it won’t work for you. Also, it’s up 4 flights of stairs. Beautifully furnished and modern, all the comforts, a tiny fridge for keeping things cool and lovely comfortable beds! Plus with the view out the top floor, you could see for miles over the rooftops of Bacharach. So pretty! Breakfast was delicious!

This hotel is well situated in the center of the medieval town. Our windows looked out on the Altehaus (1392). They have very limited onsite parking (try to reserve ahead) but the public garage on the river is only a short walk. The included breakfast buffet is adequate if not sumptuous but the room was very modern and comfortable and the staff, friendly and helpful. Overall a great choice, reasonably priced for a night in Bacharach

Room was clean. Air conditioning was tolerably adequate. Defects in room - mirror, hairdryer and bin faulty. Manager extremely unwelcoming, no greeting, smile or concern for our satisfaction at all. Breakfast good. Breakfast staff very pleasant. No evening facilities at all. No restaurant or bar, even though a bar was evident it was never open. We would never have stayed here if it was made clear on the website that there was no restaurant in the evening. Bacharach generally is run down and has seen better days.

Beautiful little town and great central location on the Rhine. Overall our 3 night stay was good. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast had good choices and the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Of note, there is no elevator or assistance to bring up your bags. We were on the 2nd floor and it took some effort to get the bags up the stairs. There is also no staff to help with any issues after 6 pm. Not usually an issue but we lost the air conditioning one night and had to wait until the following morning to get it fixed.

It is pretty basic accommodation and a pretty old building. The family has done a great job renovating it and they keep it beautifully clean. The breakfast area is also well appointed and and the food served was high-quality and fresh. That said, there is no elevator, and we had a room in the tower, which necessitated going up five flights of stairs, carrying our suitcases. We lived, but it was a bit of a hassle. Parking, is outside of the city walls and not convenient though that is not the Hotel‘s fault. The street scene and dining scene in Bacharach is pretty quiet and everything closes down very early. The restaurant right across the street from the hotel serves decent food. The Post hotel with the open courtyard did not. Avoid. Bacharach is definitely worth a stop but would not recommend more than a one night day.

Highly recommended historic hotel

This nice hotel in a historic building in very quaint and historic Bacharach was a joy to stay at. The location is in the beautiful town center a short walk away from the Rhine, a famous ruin, a castle, and a number of great restaurants. The service was good and the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.
