This is a very special property. It has beautiful views , spacious rooms and tasty food. It is very well situated for all of the main attractions in Sigiriya. Definitely stay here if you can

Very attentive staff, and a clean, serene hotel. Good food options on site, and easy to get to busier locations. Would highly recommend the elephant safari. Massage was great too! Nice, big gym which was always empty - has a bench and most machines you need for a good workout.

Property has everyone a guest would want to spend their holiday with the biggest highlight being the pool with an amazing view to the Lion’s Rock. Location is a short drive to everything but you need to have a driver or take taxis to get around to anywhere including landmarks, restaurants (especially if hotel restaurants are closed), & cafes. They have many activities such as Paper Factory Visit, Pottery & Cycling all included in the stay. Staff was also very helpful which made the stay pleasant. Some Detractors: - Chinese restaurant was closed. We were here celebrating our anniversary and wanted to spend the evening of our anniversary there but was quite disappointed when we discovered it was closed. - Breakfast does not include milk coffee (Flat White) & you will be charged additional amount for it which was my first time experiencing it in a 5 Star Properly. - Pathway to cabins are poorly illuminated and not all lights are turned on. Normally this is not a problem but the property has wildlife within the premises making the walk during the night feel scary. - Mountain bikes provided are squeaky and need to be better maintained. - Cabin had leaky shower with water spilling into the rest of the bathroom. - Although small, I had mentioned when booking we are travelling to celebrate our anniversary, all other properties in Sri Lanka did something cute inside the room (Towel Decoration, Welcome Cake, & other cute things) with the exception of this place.

We enjoyed our time at Aliya. The pool was lovely. Only downside is that the staff were nice, but not as welcoming as the other resorts we stayed at in Sri Lanka

Luxurious but yet affordable resort

Amazing resort. Wonderfully laid out, with large walking tracks, huge green area nestled with unusual flora and fauna. Rooms are in spread out villas. Attentive staff. Great breakfast. It really felt like one is living inside a manicured forest!

This hotel lived up to the great ratings it has received...and then some. Every employee we encountered was warm and friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, the rooms lovely. Best was all the elephant themed art work throughout the property. It was like walking in a modern art museum!

Amazing beautiful room with a private pool. Staff were so accommodating and wonderful! There were beautiful peacocks everywhere and the location was ideal to see all the things we wanted to see in the area. There was a restaurant with buffet and a la carte options that were delicious. It was very helpful to have a good food option each night on site when we returned from our day’s adventures. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel.

Loved everything about this property, its location looking at Pidurangala and Sigiriya Rock was stunning. Plenty of food options. Staff were super helpful and couldn’t do enough to please, constantly checking that everything was okay. They would arrange Tuktuk, private drivers and even check train travel for us. Would definitely stay here again

Comfortable hotel

A comfortable hotel with a clear view of Sigiriya rock. Great service, good a la carte food. Lighting in the room is a little dim. Accessing the soap and shampoo dispensers is dufficult. Therefore can't give a 5 star eating to this hotel.

Waiting on their staff at check in and check out was far too long. They need to revise their system. Too many people doing nothing but waiting for the ONE person who could do it. The place itself is incredibly beautiful -- really. Great pool and great view.

Disappointed in hotel facilities, limited space to relax outside of the room when it’s raining, also had rodent droppings in our room and kept awake by noise of either rodent or lizard behind our bed in one of the wooden chalets. The rooms were also damp inside. Place seems to designed for the short stay big tour groups. Spa was a highlight authentic Ayurvedic spa. Would not stay for more than 1 or 2 nights if visiting Sigiriya

The hotel is eco friendly with a great view of Sigiya mountain. Pool is to die for with enough chairs for the size of the hotel. Lots of grounds to walk in seeing the many monkeys and wildlife! Staff were friendly but could not converse well in English. The service was extremely slow around the pool and in the dining area. Quality of food was poor compared to other hotels we have stayed in. In fact we visited the Heritage hotel for dinner one night which was far superior to what we had at this hotel. It’s a pity as the hotel itself is lovely.
