The Hotel Mac Rae was a really nice place to be. I think of it as old California. The hotel is old, but well cared for. The room was small but clean and well appointed. The patio was great for me, quiet and sunny, a great place to hang out. The best part is that the hotel is in the middle of the Embarcadero. You can walk from the Catalina Express to the hotel. You can walk to most restaurants in Avalon in 5-minutes.

A cheery hotel in the heart of the Catalina shores. The staff was very accommodating assisting with beach towels and luggage hold. Our room was ready by 10:30 am, which was a nice surprise. The county yard is very pleasant.
