「The location is nice and truly peaceful. Regarding the property we had a few issues. Firstly, we booked Unit 7b which looked nice, but were given the key box code for 7a. 7a was decidedly a lesser quality property. It was smaller and tired-looking (I understand a new owner is currently upgrading - neighbours told me). The floors coul and should have been cleaner. The TV was out of order The property was advertised as having internet access, but that was not the case. The neighbours said there is...

「We absolutely loved our stay at The Gatehouse in Horseshoe Bay. It’s a charming, peaceful spot just steps from the beach. The house has two bedrooms—a queen and a room with two singles plus a cozy sofa area—air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen, BBQ, and dining space for four. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and gave us great tips about the island. Restaurants and cafes are nearby, and the bus makes exploring easy without a car. We had a wonderful time and would love to return!」

「Lovely property, very private and quiet location. Outdoor and indoor fires were stocked with wood ready to relax and enjoy with the bottle of wine provided :) A very minor suggestion would be to have a bedside lamp rather than relying on main lights, and a cheese knife would be fab! Overall we had a very enjoyable night away :) 」

「We had to inquire with the owner about the lodge as no information about check-in was provided in advance. However, when I inquired with the owner, she informed me immediately. The bed sheets were not set and we had to make the beds ourselves. We had to wash the sheets and towels ourselves and check out, which I would only recommend to those who have enough time. Because of the many rules, I thought it would be a problem for people staying there if they were not posted on the website.」

「Tekoa Lodge was perfect for our family ski trip. House is very warm with the woodburner going. Lots of space inside and out. Very short drive to the mountain. The private bush track down the river is also very cool. We would certainly stay again. Oh, and David is an excellent communicator. 」
