  • Walk to Rainey Street in 10 minutes, and to the Austin Convention Center and Sixth Street in under 20. This East Cesar Chavez house has three equal queen bedrooms, so nobody draws the couch. It has a private fire-pit yard and free parking, which is rare this close to downtown. Lady Bird Lake is 2 blocks away, and the airport is about 6 miles. A great base for SXSW, ACL, conferences, bachelorette weekends and UT game days.

    THE SPACE
    Three bedrooms, each with a queen bed, plus a sleeper sofa in the living room for a 7th guest, and two full baths. Perfect for three couples, a bachelorette crew, or coworkers in town for a conference. The cozy living room has a Roku TV and fast Wi-Fi, and it opens to the backyard, the heart of the house: gather around the fire pit, then walk to dinner. Cowhide rug, lone-star decor, a pack-and-play, shampoo and conditioner, and extra towels.

Adorable little spot right next to downtown and all the things to do. Start your day walking around the corner to a wonderful local coffee shop then you’re a short drive or walk if feeling adventurous from a lot of the attractions of Austin. Also within 30 minutes of a few state / city parks for adventures.

Ladybird House is a clean & cozy spot for a quick getaway weekend near great food & activities! Sleeps 6 comfortably across 3 bedrooms & also has a sofa sleeper. Kitchen/living room area equipped with all you need for cooking & family fun. Thank you, Neal, for the space and excellent communication.

My friends and I had a great stay at this place! It was perfectly sized for the 6 of us and really close to restaurants and food on/near Caesar Chavez but also great location to get to downtown or lady bird trails. We would stay here again!

It was myself and 3 big gentlemen and we fit in very comfortably. Everything was nicely decorated, it was comfortable. We were able to walk everywhere (including a beautiful 40 min walk to South Congress). Would stay here again.

Nice trip and location. The kitchen needs more basics for cooking - larger pots, strainer, utensils, etc. Floors are slanted and plumbing pressure an issue. Nice outdoor space and firepit.

So much fun!

What a great handful of days that we enjoyed in Austin using Neal’s perfectly located home as a base to explore. Our group of four adults fit perfectly – we loved how quiet the neighborhood was and definitely enjoyed the proximity to Lady Bird Lake. Neal was particularly gracious in accommodating our last-minute change of plans! Wonderful host, wonderful home!

Great place!

Nicely furnished and comfortable. Quiet neighborhood and close to everything. The only issues that we had was that the yard was really muddy but we had heard that it had rained a lot prior to our visit. I also felt that the rental was not as clean as it should have been. Great place though!

We had a great stay overall! The location is excellent and very convenient for getting to Rainey Street, 6th Street, and other downtown areas. The space matched the listing in terms of layout, furniture, and appliances, and check-in was easy.The home has been remodeled and the interior design is nice, though the house itself still has some older elements (baseboards, caulking, etc.), so it feels more like an updated older home rather than a completely new or modern build as the photos might suggest.We did see a couple fire ants and a small bug near the sink during our stay, which may just be normal for the area but worth noting. Also, there weren’t any extra blankets available, which would have been a nice addition.The yard is great and would be especially nice for anyone traveling with dogs.Overall it was a comfortable stay and the location is definitely a highlight. We would consider booking again.

Good value for the stay

The property is a nice place to crash at when you are visiting Austin and need to be close to the convention center. The space was clean. The living room and kitchen are not very spacious but decent sized. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook a few meals. The 3 bedrooms are all well sized. The master bath is quite spacious. All rooms had clean sheets and some closet space. Master bedroom did not exactly have a closet but had a rack to keep your stuff on and a pole to hang clothes from. The mattresses were comfortable. The air conditioners worked quite well and we didn't feel the outside heat. Overall the house was nice and clean. The host Neal was very nice and accommodating. Instructions were easy to follow and Neal was quite responsive. I would definitely consider staying here again when I'm back.
