"The property location was excellent for our needs. A car is necessary but everything is very convenient and accessible. The very best part was our host. I have never dealt with anyone so concerned with our having a wonderful vacation. From our first contact to the last she could not have been more available and considerate. The unit had everything that we needed and the view was one of, if not the very best we have ever had, and this is based on 60 years of travel. I could not rate the facility or the host any higher."

"Pros: Love the porch view, this is why we chose this property. The bathrooms were well stocked with everything you need. The property was clean, sheets soft, bed comfortable, easy access shower, full size refrigerator with ice maker, full size dishwasher, dishwasher soap, huge washer and dryer with every kind of washer products, coffee maker, microwave, homemade oatmeal cookies, as well as a large variety of snacks, outdoor gas grill, and small fire pit. Sitting outdoors had 2 comfortable chairs and a bench. The dining table has 4 chairs. There are 2 leather chairs in the living room and bedrooms have a closet with hangers and a dresser if you chose to unpack, which I did because I stayed for a week. John was very knowledgeable about local activities and restaurants. He took us on a tour of the salmon hatchery. John offers breakfast every morning at the time convenient for you. We had breakfast 4 mornings. The other mornings we were gone very early.Two couples stayed at this home. I had 2 rental cars.Cons: There is a gravel walkway to the entry. Parking is in front of a garage and John's house. I did not know John resides upstairs. The full kitchen has 1 convection burner, looks like a hot plate. The oven, sits on the counter. It's the size of an air fryer. I did not use the oven. To use the convection burner, I placed a heavy skillet on the burner and added my pot, which I brought from home. There are no inside locks on bedroom doors."

"A wonderful place, calm, quiet, away from the busy port area, where there were three or more cruise ships docked every day. I loved the location, but I rented a car, as you couldn’t walk to shops or restaurants. The house itself was spotless, comfortable and furnished with not only kitchen basics, but extras like two kinds of coffee makers but also coffee and creamers for both. A 500-piece jigsaw puzzle. Laundry pods for the washer and dryer, which we gratefully used. Alexa available in both kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of plugs for electronics.Our host was the best; living next door and truly interested in helping us have the best experience possible. Very easy to communicate with her before and during our stay. When we decided to arrive one day early—making a total of six nights—the software didn’t allow that change easily. Our host, Bernadine, suggested that we simply pay for the night upon arrival. Easy!I chose this property, among other reasons, because of its layout. I traveled with an adult daughter and both of us needed our own space. My daughter had the downstairs bedroom, while I stayed upstairs, closer to the single bathroom and kitchen/dining room. The single bath was not a problem as the sink and vanity were outside the bathroom door.I found this rental pricey, but that’s Alaska and it’s understandable. It’s worth every penny. My daughter and I loved our beautiful Juneau “home” and would love to stay there again!"

"This was a very nice property, much better than any hotel. Exceptionally clean. Great communication with host. Auke Bay is growing, many food and drink options. The room has everything you need to prepare food, hot plate, pots, pans, utensils. Very generous with towels, lovely soaps, spacious fridge, espresso as well as a tea pot and a pour over. Bed is large, comfortable, linens are luxurious, duvet and extra blanket. The tilting/ adjustable bed side lighting was perfect for reading and a plush carpet so feet don’t hit a cold floor, heavy curtains to block out light, a generous closet with shelving and hangers. The host thought of everything,"

"This property was truly amazing for our stay in Juneau! We spent our mornings drinking coffee and watching the Eagles in Auke Bay right out on the deck! You can also see the seals swimming there and they are so cute! There is a small beach below we ventured down to and got a few shells one day. The home was so cozy and had everything we needed and things we didn’t have Ben expect like organic coffee beans and some other items. It is far enough from the touristy sites to have peace and just close enough to check them out if you choose to venture out. It was about 7 min from the airport and actually really close to a glacier we drove to ourselves and didn’t have to pay for a hefty priced tour to one! We did pay for a whale tour and much was just magical and would highly recommend that! The home is close to gas, a few restaurants and a gas station that has most things you would need on vacation and even has fresh donuts and sandwiches daily for breakfast and other meals as well as liquor so you don’t have to go far. Little one stop shop!"
