"I booked this directly with the hotel as it was a five minute walk to the Car Rental Depot where I had to be by 10 am on my first day in New Zealand. It was picked for convenience rather than anything else, and was a fairly typical and bland city centre hotel, designed I think for visiting business men - no dressing table / mirror in the bedroom is always a sign of a hotel designed for men and this did not disappoint. As is a shaving mirror in the bathroom that is too high on the wall to be of any use to someone 5’ tall. There was a long table in the bedroom but completely taken up by a large TV.
The shower room was nice with new white towels, however the water pressure in the rain shower was non-existent - I think there is no cold feed to it at all, the same control operates the hand held shower which did have better water pressure and the temperature could be better controlled.
The best feature was the bed which was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in, a large king size with white linen and four comfy pillows (and a pillow menu). I’m both sides of the bed were electric sockets but also a USB A and C socket, so very convenient. And the soundproofing was effective, it was very quiet. The room had all the usual equipment including a hair dryer, kettle, safe, small fridge, iron and ironing board. The shower was large. The only view from the large window was another wing of the same hotel, all quite bland. I did not eat there"
