To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. "If you don't want the noise, hustle and bustle of the city, stay at Borahead Lodge. A peaceful, quiet cottage only minutes from dining, groceries and Dublin. It's a short drive (40 minutes) from Dublin airport. 20 minute drive to the Red Cow park and ride Luas station so you don't have to fight Dublin downtown traffic. Bridie (our friendly host) gave great advice about the area and shared pears from her orchard. If we're ever back in Ireland, we will be staying here."

"Yvonne and Peter couldn't be more accommodating! Yvonne met us to discuss the cottage. She had nice touches to make everything cozy. It was incredibly clean! We felt at home immediately! It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!!"

"Loved loved this hotel. It was my favorite hotel we stayed in during our time in Ireland. It was clean and super comfortable and relaxed. The only negative thing was our dinner, the manager was super rude to us and was annoyed we didn’t have a reservation. But maybe he was having a bad day. Living in the states we didn’t know we would need a reservation for our own hotel. But overall we would come back and loved it!! "

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ballindrum Farm. My room was clean, nicely decorated, and had a beautiful view. Mary (the owner) was very welcoming and even drove me to town because I didn't have a car. To top it off, guests are allowed to watch the cows being milked every day from a viewing gallery (yes, Ballindrum is also a working dairy farm). I highly recommend it."
