Cottage 4 was a blend of rustic charm and recent updates. The beds and furniture were comfortable. We were a party of two, but it would have been roomy for four. The hosts’ welcome gift of local ice cream was a bonus. The location worked well for us. It was just off the highway, but quiet; and we had easy drives to explore towns and trails in the area.

My wife and I are really impressed with this place. We’ve stayed at a lot of cabins around the state and this one is by far the best one. The cabin has on floor heating which is a huge plus for us.

Very clean and had all supplies. The only downside is in the winter, when we stayed, they didn’t have a grill or fire pit.

This is a cozy little cottage in a beautiful location on the lake. It's an older cottage full of charm. The owner was wonderful and I would love to visit again.

Cabin with views

Nice small family resort. Cottage had plenty of space. It was well supplied and everything worked. Local ice cream was a nice touch. Good location and nice views. Just don’t expect many amenities or a refined, modern experience.

Such a cute little cabin, everything was very clean and we had more than we needed for our stay. Owners were very easy to communicate with and so helpful, beds were very comfortable and internet was very fast. The water at the private beach is so clear as well. I will definitely be back in the future

A great little cottage had all we needed and was so restful under the oaks we wanted to stay longer. Much appreciated the air conditioning for it was unseasonably hot. Beach was much smaller than anticipated and hard on old knees rather inaccessible but worth the sunrise view! The beds were fine. The owner went out of her way to keep us informed and was very kind and thoughtful. Would recommend to anyone going to the area.

We stayed in the #12 cottage, which was the same price or less as most hotels in the area . This cottage is pretty small and not as updated as the other cottages, but it was just fine for our needs. I think the biggest issue is that some windows don't open and the bedroom windows hinge open from the bottom and can't be held open (they would need a hook in the ceiling to hold them. I put a shoe in the frame to let some air in. I'm a fresh air person and love the cool air from the lake). One of the bedrooms does have a smaller window on the side that opens. The best thing about the resort is the ease of communication with the owners, who answered several questions by text ahead of time, and to check in you just walk into the cottage and text them that you're there. The cabin came with a container of local ice cream, and the kitchen was well-appointed with old-school tile decor. There's water access where you can swim or launch a canoe or kayak. There's also a grill, fire pit and picnic table in the front. They don't require a 2-night stay so it's a good option either for a longer vacation or a stop-in like we did.

From the time of booking Katie had reached out to let us know exactly where we would be going when we arrived and made our entire stay so enjoyable! She recommended we try to catch the mind blowing Northern Lights and had her sister deliver the most delicious “welcome ice cream”! They recommended some hikes we had not done other times in the area as well! The cottage was clean, comfortable, quiet, had everything you would need including firewood and in a great location!! The address is Ashland and it is minutes from the business district in the best possible way - it felt more like remote, lakefront and miles from everything because it was so peaceful but also near some of our favorite restaurants. I highly recommend this property and will be back!

Cottage was very clean. Really enjoyed opening the window and spending a slow morning watching the sunrise over Lake Superior after a night around the fire pit. Every thing needed was supplied in the cottage, plus ice cream! Appreciate the single night layover on our way to the Apostle Islands, definitely understand why two of our fellow guests were regulars there

The cottage looks nice in photos and they do keep it as clean as they can; however, it is very rundown. We were bothered by the strong smell of fabric softener (gives us migraines) and mildew. The beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom narrow and dark, and overall, we just had “the creeps” the whole time. So much so that we left early. Honestly, we expected more for the price. You can find better options in the area for what we paid.

We only stayed one night because we were passing through. We were upgraded from a cabin to the lake house for no charge because of a booking conflict, so that was very good for us ! Lake house was very roomy , and had lots of character. Some antique furnishings , a full kitchen and laundry, and even two tubs of locally made ice cream in the freezer ! Mainfloor washroom was way too far away away from the bedrooms for our liking , but that would be our only complaint.
