Our family of four 2 pups had a great stay. They house is a perfect mountain house, the hot tub was a great treat on a cold day. Our pups loved the closed-in deck so they could chew sticks while we soaked. The house has easy access to Asheville's downtown. We will stay again!
This was a great property to accommodate a group. It is in a quiet private area. It could stand a few minor repairs but overall was a perfect getaway for our group.
I stayed at the cabin with 10 other girls for a 50th birthday weekend! We enjoyed sitting on the deck, getting in the hot tub, and listening to music. The weather was fabulous! We were able to get Ubers to Asheville and back! We had a great trip!
Very clean, cozy, and comfortable. Had everything we needed and more. Firewood, extra bath towels, great working hot tub, fully stocked kitchen to cook meals in.
It was close enough to all of the towns we wanted to visit.
Would love to come back in spring or summer just to enjoy the front porch.
We were supposed to be going to Tybee Island for the week but Hurrican Debby had other things in mind. We had to change plans and decided Asheville was the place to go. We were thrilled to find this place last minute and Rebecca was very helpful! The beds were very comfy!
The cabin was very nice and large. It could’ve used a good cleaning, master bedroom smelled of cigarette smoke. overall, it was roomy and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
We loved staying at "Bear's Den"! The cabin is spacious, and meticulously clean. We were easily able to accomodate 8 people during our stay. Asheville was only 20 minutes away, so we had the pleasure of staying in a mountain retreat, while being very close to the city attractions. This location was also within 30 minutes of Chimney Rock, Bat's Cave, and Lake Lure. It had a full kitchen so we were able to eat in, or eat out. We enjoyed sight seeing during the day, and hanging out at the cabin in the evening. I am hoping that this cabin is available the next time we visit Asheville!
This was a perfect getaway for our family. The cabin was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the decor was lovely, and the beds were comfortable. It was a terrific place to hang out, cook on the grill, enjoy the hot tub and roast marshmallows at the fire pit outside. It’s about 15 minutes to the Biltmore estate and downtown Asheville. Mountain trails, waterfalls, shopping, and the art district were also close by. This perfect rustic getaway was hard to leave. The host was very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bears Den. We hope to make this a yearly vacation destination.
My family of 8 stayed at the Bear’s Den Mountain Cabin for a few days in March and we couldn’t have been happier with the place.
The kitchen was very nice and roomy, with newer appliances and plenty of counter space for our cooking. The big round table was perfect for our big meal, and there were enough chairs for the eight of us around the table. The high-speed wireless internet was great to have too! It was very clean and warm. The bedrooms are all very nice and cozy. The whole place oozes with charm.
The driveway is steep, Rebecca is not joking about that! But overall, we all loved the place and we were sad to leave. If our travels bring us back to the area, we will definitely be coming back for more!
This home was exactly as described and better than the pictures. 11 of us stayed for 5 days and were very comfortable. The deck was just beautiful and felt so private. We did not need to bring anything except groceries. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely. I will definitely stay here again. The drive to Asheville was a breeze as was the drive to the Biltmore. You felt as though you were far out and up in the mountains but it took no time at all to get where you wanted to go. Pisgah Forest and then right up to Blue Ridge Parkway is all so close, with it's breathtaking views. Mostly, we loved the place so much that we just stayed put and enjoyed time with friends & family. Lovely, lovely home.
We were really pleased with our stay at this cabin. It is warm and inviting. The owners have decorated it with lots of quality furnishings. And added some humor as well. The king bed was super comfortable. Everything was very clean. It is located in a really convenient place to explore the area, Very easy to get to and from Asheville. Food Lion just minutes away. It is tucked into lots of trees on a hillside, so there is a lot of privacy. Quiet too. Hot tub, wood-burning fireplace, and outside fir3e pit were great to have. If we are back in this area, we will be sure to see if it is available. And bring family and friends to enjoy. It is a house to be shared. Thank you so much

In need of some attention
This property is considerably more dated than the pictures convey. It’s got so much potential, but needs some attention from the owner.
The space was good for a family. The deck is large. Great for pets. The hot tub worked well, but has a mildew smell. The fire pit was nice with plenty of wood.
The kitchen is well-stocked, but disorganized. Dishes are dated, mismatched and chipped. The oven works but seemed to have difficulty achieving the desired temperature. The refrigerator was dirty and we had to clean it ourselves upon arrival before putting our groceries away. The large dining room table would have been perfect but for the wobbly top. The laundry room door fell off when opened.
The bathrooms are adequate, but again, lacked the expected cleanliness. There was a dirty film on the sinks and spiders in the shower.
The living room rug smelled of animal urine. We may not have noticed this if not for our 6 month old granddaughter crawling around.
The floors were clean enough in the walking spaces, but when we moved furniture to access outlets, we found dog hair, dust and cobwebs. The floor underneath the basement beds was filthy, to include an old Pepto-Bismol bottle. The house clearly hadn’t been dusted in many months. Renters with dust allergies would struggle in this space.
Beds in the basement have no support and need new mattresses. Towels were new. Some sheets were thin and stained and in need of replacement. With some TLC, this space could be amazing.
Great stay! Our family enjoyed the cabin & the Biltmore. The cabin was decorated & stocked very well. If you have pets the property is set up wonderfully. I’d definitely go back. Thanks
Rebecca was so quick to respond my messages/questions. The house was well-stocked and clean. It was a good hot tub and fire pit. They even decorated a little for Christmas, which was a sweet and nice touch!
Multiple families came together to stay and visit nephews and their families in the area. The location was great. The area was quiet. We saw a bear, and lots of birds. Very peaceful area.
Wonderful cabin with a great location. Loved the porch and yard for the dogs.
My family had a great time. We love spending our Christmas vacation around the cozy wood fireplace and would definitely rent it again. It was so nice to also have the cabin decorated for the holiday season. Really convenient location close to Asheville and shopping.
"A wonderful experience that I would like to repeat."
"A wonderful experience that I would like to repeat, especially when it comes to the New Year's accommodation. The attention to detail, the cozy atmosphere, and the memorable moments created a truly unforgettable stay."
Renting this property was very easy. The pictures explaining what the cabin had to offer was great. Rebecca the property manager made herself available if needed. Enjoyed our stay.
Stayed here with a group of 8. Property was perfect for us with plenty of space to hang out, relax, and cook. It is challenging to get Ubers or Lyfts at this location so we ended up driving to and from downtown Asheville which wasn’t an issue. Host was very responsive. Highly recommend as a cabin getaway!
This house was perfect for our HS reunion trip for the seven of us. The house was immaculate, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The huge wrap around deck was used every day along with the great Jacuzzi. Very convenient to Asheville and Black Mountain, but tucked up into the woods with complete privacy. We did not take advantage of the nice fire pit - next time! It was great!
