「A beautiful gem of a hotel situated on Mt. Varese, quiet and with an impeccable view of the surroundings. A great destination for a little getaway.
The building itself is old, but charming and well-kept. Our room extended across two floors, with the bedroom on the bottom and the bathroom (with a shower cell, toilet and bidet) upstairs.
The bedroom led out on a large balcony, providing a remarkable view of the mountainside and the lake. The room was clean and tidy.

「Du finder ikke en mere fantastisk placering. Wauw en udsigt. Fantastisk personale og meget lækker aftensmad og morgenmad. Værelserne er ældre og der er lydt, men udsigten og omgivelserne slår alt inkl. servicen på hotellet og i restauranten.
OBS. Parkering ligger 200-500 meter væk fra hotellet, da vejen der til er for smal til større biler. 」

Breakfast was very good and the spa/ pool was perfect for a relaxing few days at the end of a busy holiday. Spa staff were lovely. Several casual dining options nearby which was great as restaurant less suitable for children/ relaxed dining. 」

「We loved staying in this hotel with its unique history and beautiful decor. It is a special place in a wonderful location and we had fabulous views from our balcony. The walk to Morcote took under 30 minutes with lovely views but you need to wear trainers as the path is uneven. We also enjoyed walking to the castle through the vineyards and exploring lake Lugano by bus and boat. We tended to get Uber taxi’s back up to to hotel as it was a steep climb ( cost 18CHF) 」
