"The Wharekura “ pre-reno” apartment we stayed at was marred by 3 of the 4 elements of the stove not working properly, the oven wouldn’t go. There appeared to be no smoke detectors although the owners reassured me later that they were there. The shower doors were hard to close. Like much inside the apartment, the wiring looked dodgy and as old as the building. The stairs to the room were uneven.

"Everything was good except that the TV did not cast as it was too old and the bedroom configuration was not helpful for adults sharing living accommodation, i.e. two of the bedrooms were accessed by going through the other room with sleeping accommodation. It would have been helpful to know this for privacy reasons for our group. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay and were very happy."

"A beautiful spot in an area that's off the beaten track. Very peaceful surrounded by nature. The beds were very comfortable and the owner very respectful. Self catering with all the pans, plates etc. I would say it's not really appropriate for those who are elderly. They may struggle to get into a shower that's in the bath. Some minor issues with the temperature gage in the shower and the upstairs toilet which I believe is being resolved. Overall a lovely spot, that calms and revitalises."
