I paid Expedia in advance but showed up last night to stay at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham in Appleton and they did not have a room for me. Near by hotels were also full so I slept in my vehicle in their parking lot for awhile and then drove 3 hours through the rain to get home. Expedia please refund my payment for the hotel room you did not reserve for me. Tim Andryk

The room was ‘double booked’ allegedly. The room and entire property was dirty. Smelled like cigarettes and weed. There were clumps of hair on the bathroom floor. There was what looked like blood stains on the curtains and black mold on the ceiling. Thankfully we were only staying for one night and leaving right away in the morning, so we just dealt with it for the short time we were there.

This place is terrible. Unfortunately, it was the only place available in the area. The only positive was that the beds were comfortable. It was dirty, run down, and the staff was unfriendly. To add to the misery, we paid for our stay in full prior to arrival. Then the hotel added a security deposit charge of $75 and charged us for $115 for the night, I messaged the hotel through the Expedia app, no response. When you call them, they don't answer the phone (or it doesn't work). Expedia should not list this hotel as an option. It is embarrassing that they would advertise such a trashy, immoral operation.

This is the most filthy hotel I’ve ever encountered in my life. There were smears on the walls, trash and debris underneath the sink/counter, the air/heat didn’t work, window didn’t lock, unprofessionally hand written signs taped to all the things out of order and staff looked like they just came off the street corner. Also my deposit was not refunded until after I called to inquire about it. The whole place and its staff are sketchy!

I would not recommend this property even if you are in dire need of somewhere to stay. The property was filthy and ridden with bugs and broken items throughout the room and the hotel itself. Do not stay here, seriously.

The front desk doesn't answer their phone, the door lock on the room was broken and there was something that looked like blood splatter on the floor and curtains. Everything about it was terrible!

Staff were rude, unprofessional and terrible. The whole place smelled foul. The room had all kinds of issues. Breakfast was over at nine on Saturday, which is ridiculous and the coffee was weak and poor.

Showed up and handed the person at the front desk my card. Had my reservation fully paid for on Expedia prior to arrival. There was a 75 dollar hold on my card that didnt go away until after I checked out. Didn't think this was unusual as I've been charged more for a deposit at other places. However, the charge went through shortly after I completed my online check out. I had to work very early and was and no one was working the front desk yet which is why I opted for online checkout. Will not be returning. If you see a hold on your card from them, be sure that you know what it's for. Like ai said, my reservation was fully paid for prior to arrival.

The room was ready when I checked in, but unfortunately I did not feel safe or comfortable during my stay, which made it difficult to get proper rest before a competition the next day. Upon arriving at the room, I noticed visible stains on the sheets and hairs on the pillow. I was also concerned that the smoke or carbon monoxide detector appeared to be disconnected. The bathroom vent was extremely loud as well. The overall condition of the property did not leave a good impression. The parking lot was in poor condition, the check-in area smelled strongly of smoke and cigarettes, and the breakfast area did not appear very clean. The breakfast selection itself was also quite limited. Shortly after checking in and heading to my room, I heard loud banging and yelling in the hallway, which added to my discomfort and made me feel uneasy for the remainder of my stay. I spent as little time in the room as possible and checked out early the following morning. The only reason I stayed the night was because I had already paid for the room; otherwise, I would have requested a refund and left. After later reading reviews of the property, I became even more concerned about staying there. I hope management takes steps to improve the cleanliness, safety, and overall atmosphere of the hotel so future guests can have a more comfortable and secure experience.

I am upset because the management that was at that hotel doesn’t do their job the way they’re supposed to and everything and they wouldn’t come clean the room the whole time I was there or I wouldn’t come and get the garbage out of the room and stuff they are very irresponsible and don’t take care of their property
