The fire place wouldn’t stay lit, the hot tub smelled terrible, and the jacuzzi tub had mold in it. That was disappointing. However the rest of the house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We went during cold weather and the large house stayed warm. Beds and couches were very comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need.

Wonderful stay at the VRBO. Water pressure and the hot water could have been better in the bathroom down in the basement shower. Overall the stay was good though.

Home is comfortable, but needs maintenance. Many of the windows are stuck closed and a number have no or broken screens. Front storm/screen door has no screen and has gaps when closed. The hot tub heater works, buts jets do not, and the filter needs to be replaced

The place is great. The only problem was the coffee pot broke. The handle snapped when filling it over the sink. Luckily no one was hurt. Thanks we enjoyed the visit.

Great Family Stay

We stayed here for my families summer vacation and it was wonderful. We had lots of kids and adults, spacious house with convenient location to the lake. The back yard was a little smaller than we planned, but the atv trails are close for a quick walk down by the lake. Wonderful stay, beds and couches were so comfy!

70th Birthday

It doesn't list that you have neighbors so very close, or that there was an atv trail along the side of the house. But for the most part it was a great house. My mom turned 70 and we spent the weekend there. It was a bit further away from any grocery store than I had hoped. We did enjoy our time.

Apple Canyon Lake

Last minute booking to Jo Davies Co., found mgmt co. to be super accommodating & flexible to our families needs for a long wknd in Galena area. Cabin had plenty of room & really everything we needed to unwind, relax & enjoy family time. We hiked nearby trails accessible from rental including Apple Canyon State Park, 2 waterfalls & downtown Galena during our stay. Cooked meals on the grill and in kitchen which was adequately equipped. We did have trouble w/the gas fireplace & tv upstairs. Gas fireplace seemed to be on a timer & shut off so would only run for brief moments @ a time, we never did get tv upstairs working even though we followed instructions left in binder. Kids were able to watch tv, stream music, etc. in basement & their rooms. Enjoyed the hot tub, games, side porch w/nice Weber gas grill & view of lake …the stars at night were a blessing. By our 2nd day it was quite warm, master bdrm had no screens which was a bummer because as far as we knew cabin wasn’t equipped w/A/C. We managed however by opening windows & fans provided. Lots of natural light in cabin, beautiful sunsets in backyard, atv trails galore which run right along side the cabin if that’s your thing & throughout this resort area. We felt that some of the outdoor spaces here incl. hot tub room, back yard, fire pit area, small side porch w/grill were a missed opportunity & w/some small improvements & clean-up could be much better utilized. Overall, great stay & a nice getaway to unplug and relax. :)

Good location and quiet area

Good stay overall. We stayed in winter and was hoping to utilize the hot tub, but it was not properly maintained. Also sleeper sofa bedding was not changed. Other than that we had a great stay. Fix our group of 8 perfectly.

This rental was very clean. Nice to get away. Lots of room for games. Relaxing hot tub! Kitchen was nice lots of supplies for cooking!

Applewood stay

All in all it was a great place to stay. A couple of things that need attention. Could not find the remote to turn on fireplace and a suggestion for the TV in main room. A smart TV would be appreciated. The Chanel that was on the information sheet was CH30, however I believe it was actually CH18. Took us awhile to figure that out. Other than that our family enjoyed our stay!

Can Be Better

We had a good day communication with the management company was excellent. We noticed something. The average person would notice because we’re in the trades. They came right out and took care of it while we were out. Cooking appliances left a little to be desired small frying pan for a large group doesn’t work large frying skillet. Nice but it was awful of rust. Second coffee pot left down. The counter was left full of coffee from who knows how long before we got there there was mold growing in the coffee. We washed it out and threw the cabinet. Fire pit, not like the photograph totally different not usable too close to the trees. Sitting outside at night was very nice. Weather was great. Only problem is there is a trail that goes around the property for everyone to use with their four wheelers and people were driving around their four wheelers till all hours of the night right past the front of the house, kicking up nothing but dust from the trail they were on. I stayed in this house 13-15 years ago It was nice then, but nothing‘s been upgraded since new mattresses would be nice.

Even better than expected!

The house is gorgeous and has a lot of character. It was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Our favorite part was the enclosed porch on the upper floor. It went perfectly with the late August weather.

Family Reunion

The property was perfect for 4 couples. Would have liked a longer stay to enjoy all the amenities such as all the games and the fire pit. Loved the proximity to Apple Canyon Lake, especially the marina. Beautiful home… great stay!

Nice home

The home is very nice and suitable for families. The hot tub room and upper screened in porch are filthy and need to be deep cleaned. The open concept on main floor is very nice to gather or play games. Plenty of room and everything we needed. It is not too far to drive to pool or lake. Fire pit area could be cleaned up. We would stay again!

Father’s Day Weekend

Great place to stay. Love the cleanliness, kitchenware, open layout, and decor. It’s nice and close to the marina, tennis courts, and Cove as well. When we had questions in a few things, we got responses from the host as well. Would love to stay here again!
