The room was big and had a lake view. Unfortunately it was next to the swimming pool so we had noises all day and night ( during the day from the kids and at night from some kind of boiler situated just outside our room). The hotel seems to be tired and outdated, random stuff situated in the corridors (amazon parcels, old lamp etc). Staff seems not very interested in customers. Breakfast was very limited with just one serving station and a long queue.

Overall, the stay was okay, especially considering the location. However, don’t expect a modern hotel experience. The hotel is quite old, and the rooms and facilities feel dated. The doors still use traditional keys, and there is no elevator, which made carrying my luggage upstairs quite difficult. Breakfast was quite limited, with only a few options to choose from. I didn’t get a chance to try the hot tub. On the positive side, the parking was free and convenient. Overall, it wasn’t a bad stay, but it was more of a basic, old-fashioned hotel experience.

This was our 3rd visit to Holly Tree. The room and facilities were spotless. We have always been impressed by the high standard of the bathroom fittings and separate bath and shower. Staff were helpful ,courteous and attentive.Food again was excellent and most enjoyable i.e.dinner ,especially enhanced by the wonderful view of the loch. Breakfast was good though fresh fruit was limited-- a minor detail !! On this occasion we didn't use,the spa and swimming pool though we have in the past and enjoyed the experience. We hope to revisit the Holly Tree again.

This is a very tired property. The carpets are tired. The rooms are tired. The facilities are tired. The food is tired - if that is possible. And all the staff seem tired. I wasn’t expecting the world but this is the sort of tired place best skipped if other options exist. And when it comes to food, you MUST find other options.
