We stayed for 9 nights. Firstly the positives. The setting was beautiful, even though the lake was so low we couldn't even see it from the house! Wildlife everywhere, and very quiet surroundings. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable but there were some negatives. The decor was old and dated and is in need of an update. Some rugs in the bedrooms would be helpful in the winter too. The fire air vent seemed blocked so it would only smolder, at a very low heat, rather than burn so we had to put wood on overnight (ie 2am) just to keep it burning. And it was still less than 5 degrees in the main bedroom and bathroom on most nights (even with the wet rooms closed up). A few blown bulbs which can be easily overlooked. No washing facilities (and local caravan parks don't allow the facilities to be used as we were informed by the owner) and only tank water made washing difficult. Absolutely no phone reception (not even emergency calls) with Telstra so needless to say no internet either. No boardgames as stated in the ad, and tv in 2nd bedroom is so old it can only be used as a DVD player (also none at the house like the ad said). And no free-to-air tv. Most of these things (with the exception of the fire) wouldn't be a problem if we had known before arrival. We had a hard drive of movies that wouldn't work on the smallish tv in the lounge room, and only a few games etc so we had to buy things (another unexpected expense). No washing for a family of 4 for 10 days was not ideal. Was somewhat disappointing, but all negatives aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days in the snowy mountains. Beautiful countryside.
