"The location was great. The staff is very friendly and warm. The hotel offered beach towels, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc. All the rooms are ocean front and the view was lovely. Now for the bad.... The rooms are is disrepair. Very old and outdated, very dingy and dirty. Stains on the bedding, dust and grease over all of the furniture, towel bars falling off the walls, ant traps and rat traps everywhere. The mattresses were horribly uncomfortable, with dents and springs poking through. It was uncomfortable to touch anything in the room due to how dirty things were. The AC unit had black mold growing inside (the cover was broken so we had full view of the inner workings). We were not able to use it, and my son had respiratory symptoms every time we returned to the room and all night. Our room was right in the middle of four rooms who were all traveling together. So each night they would gather and roam back and forth between the rooms, loud and intoxicated and late into the wee hours of the morning. Then, the cherry on top - the fire alarm started malfunctioning and was beeping constantly from friday until we checked out monday. And the alarm was directly outside our door. It went all night long for 3 nights. we got no sleep. We were told there was nothing they could do about it. No offer was made to move us to a different room or discount our stay or compensate us in some way for this awful experience. We will not be returning here. "

"My wife and I travel quite a lot and have stayed at several vacation houses for rent. This house rises to the top of all of them. The host was very responsive although there was nothing to respond to. The house was immaculately clean, very well appointed and everything worked. It was easy to see that maintenance had been very important. Our children and grandchildren were there and had a wonderful time. I can't think of a single issue we had. It is truly a magical place."

"Check in was easy with no issues. The house itself is large and well appointed, but there are a few issues that we had with information about the area as well as the air conditioning in the upstairs master was not working, therefore needed repair. It took multiple phone calls to get it finally repaired on the third day. Communication could have been improved during this time to avoid me having to make calls daily. We saw information about the public beach at the property, but don't feel we were adequately informed that vehicles drive on the beach making it dangerous due to some of the actions of those driving. Also it should be noted that the neighbors have multiple dogs that do and will bark as well as visit you sitting outside, which for some wouldn't be a problem but one of our party was deathly afraid of dogs and this hampered her enjoyment of the beach view. I know this is out of the control of the owners of the hale, but again information about this would have helped in our decision making. While the home was mainly clean, there are areas where detail cleaning inside would be beneficial. We did feel that the price paid for our week-long stay made the issues encountered overall impact our enjoyment of the hale negatively."

"The house was spacious and worked out perfect for our family. the view of the beach was spectacular. We spent many days snorkeling fishing and playing in the surf. Most of the beach goers were local and the beach was not crowded.Joe was attentive and accommodating to our needs."

"We enjoyed a completely relaxing vacation and Christmas holiday. The house had all the amenities that we needed to be able to cook most of our meals. The view of the bay and hearing the waves crash against the shore at night was lovely. The beach access is great and the water was warm. We cannot wait to return for our next beach vacation!"
