Our Favorite Place in the Gunnison/Crested Butte area
This has been our favorite place to stay in the Gunnison area again and again! Usually we travel with all adults but this time we had our 2 grandkids and the house was very accommodating. Always a welcoming stay.
This cabin is beautiful and exactly what is described on listing details. Beds are comfortable and having bathrooms/shower with each bedroom was nice. The location is great! Close to Taylor Park but also close enough to Gunnison and Crested Butte.
A group of 5 senior fishermen stayed at this property the last two years and I would highly recommend the cabin. Well appointed, exceptional location to fishing, clean, and a very responsive contact. Everything you need for a great adventure in Almont.
Everything was great with the property. House was clean and well stocked with necessities. Parking was not as big as it looks in the picture but we made it work. Overall very happy!!!
This home is absolutely stunning. We had 3 families and there was plenty of room. The cabin is perfect with an amazing deck and a huge family room with game room! Watching the big horn sheep everyday was so cool. Close to Gunnison for groceries, Created Butte and Taylor Park!! We would definitely stay here again!!
Western Colorado University Parents Weekend Getaway
My Wife and I stayed at the Taylor Canyon Cabin while in town for our daughters college parents weekend. The home is amazing. The feel is relaxed mountain luxury. The proximity to Gunnison and Crested Butte is great. We will be returning at some point with family as the home is built for entertaining an entire family and friends. Communication with the property manager was excellent. This is how you VRBO!
Stayed here recently with some friends and their families for a OHV trip to Taylor Park. The cabin was great for our large group and had plenty of parking for our 3 trucks and trailers. The lower part of the driveway was perfect for when we wanted to drop the trailers and take off to dinner in Gunnison or just do some sightseeing. The kids loved staying in the game room, so much that we rarely saw them when we were home. You could hear the Taylor river from the deck and we even got to see 4 bighorn sheep roaming the hillside one night.
The cabin and area are beautiful. There was plenty of room for our family and two dogs. It was very dog friendly and well equipped. The master bed and bath were awesome! There are lots of stairs. We had enough propane to almost finish our dinner the first night, and it was apparently our responsibility to get and pay for a refill. Communication with the host, once we were there, was rather slow, but overall, this is a wonderful place. We had a great time.
Wow!! The house is stunning! There were 5 adults, 2 kids, and 3 dogs in our group. Plenty of room for everyone. We loved the set up with every room having a bathroom. Beds were great! They have everything you could ever need for your stay. It is close to everything we wanted to do. We spent most evenings on the deck and played lots of games! All around amazing stay and will definitely stay here again. Friends are already asking for link to this house!! Loved it so much!!
The house was great, totally supplied, as if you are at home, with anything you need. Parking was good. Big kitchen. The book about the house should be read while staying very worth the time. We came to ride side by sides. You do have to trailer but they are close. Would not suggest the one in Loose Creek there’s a huge boulder at the beginning hard to get by. But over all a great place to stay and great location.
The location is right in between where we like to play in CB, Gunnison and Taylor Park. The big driveway and garage access were great for loading/unloading bikes, dirt bikes, climbing gear, fishing gear, etc. The kitchen is well supplied and very functional for feeding a lot of people. Kids love the game room, and the wrap around porch is a great place to hang out for both coffee and stargazing. Our dog loved roaming around the house, which is surrounded by beautiful terrain. The 3 rivers resort is only a couple of miles away, and has a lot to offer. I highly recommend the upper Taylor river trip (even if you were born in Wisconsin and wear shorts whenever it's over 50 degrees, go ahead and get the splash jacket and pants, you will thank me!). If you are a mountain biker looking for a rewarding challenge, definitely do Doctor Park and finish with a $2 PBR pint and great apps at Harmels on the river. That's just down the road. There is a solid climbing crag one minute from this house that is very beginner friendly. Irwrin Guides are great if you are looking for help. Horseback riding is also quite good - actual trail riding. If you get there early summer, consider paddle boards on the Slate river in CB. Don't miss Pitas in Paradise, it closes frustratingly early in the summer, but it's awesome.
If any of that appeals to you, this place is probably what you are looking for and I am writing this review for you.
We really enjoyed the cabin. Was in a great location between Gunnison and Crested Butte. We only had four in our family but there are many sleeping areas and plenty of bathrooms for larger families. Property was super clean and quiet. Would highly recommend.
Property was good for our needs. Does require a lot of stair climbing. Well equipped. Most bed linens were excellent. Sheets on upper bed could be replaced—fuzzballs on sheets. Kitchen well equipped with usable equipment. Location excellent. Easy check-in, check-out.
Our family loved your beautiful home. Well stocked with all necessities. Beds were so comfortable and all rested sooo well.
We hope we can return in the near future and hoping to stay at your perfect home
