Who puts a Victorian style kiosk at an interstate freeway rest stop? Well, apparently, the good people of Albany, Oregon. As the sign says, this cute little structure serves to commemorate the more than seven hundred historical homes and buildings in downtown Albany.

I love this little thing, but get a load of the trailer hitch under the front window. I'll have to start looking for those in some of the older districts in the area. I did not realize that they were an architectural feature.

"Cute & cozy little place, perfect for the two of us. Although we pretty much only slept there, it was well appointed for cooking and relaxing in front of the smart tv, and bed was comfy. Freeway and grocery nearby. Quiet neighborhood. Would stay again. ."

"Traveled with a group of 9 adults ages 19-89, and this place was perfect for us. The photos really do not do it justice. It was much larger on the inside than what the photos could show. Great place for lovers of older homes, and Mary and her crew communicated regularly through the rental process and once we arrived to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Nice location in Albany; very near Corvallis and just a short jump to Newport.David D."

"Good place to stay for honeymoon. Everything was very clean. Only thing i could say could be better is the pots and pans. Used them for breakfasts and they are really cheap, same goes for the silverware. Other than that it was a great stay!!"

"Great location and quiet for families. The staff were friendly, and the pool was exceptionally clean. The double queen rooms were sold out and we had to use the pull-out for my 10-year-old daughter. The mattress was so bad in the pull-out that it was unusable. The springs in the mattress were painful and the bars in the sofa itself came right through, which makes this dangerous. The staff did give us an extra blanket to cover but we had to remove our king-size quilt from our bed and fold it 3x to make the pull-out usable. If you plan to use the pull-out, I suggest bringing a sleeping bag or booking the double queen room. The king bed itself was comfortable."

"The front desk staff is great. They helped make sure we had a safe, comfortable, and afforable place to stay when our plans changed. The room was clean and comfortable. It is no frills, but gets the job done. The area around the hotel is kind of depressed. The biggest issue is the proximity to the train tracks. We heard train horns all night. Not the hotel's fault, but something to be aware of. "
