The Sunset Inn
2.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (719)
"Room and bathroom was very clean. Complementary hot breakfast is not bad-- better than the "continental breakfast" some chain hotels offer. Warning: no coffee in the room, but I prefer to stretch my legs and head downstairs for the 24 hour coffee. No decaf coffee though. My suggestion is for Management to provide decaf teas, and perhaps a few hot chocolate sachets close to the hot water airpot. These are not complaints. This hotel provides good value for the money you pay. We enjoyed our quiet...

Four Seasons Lodge

"Check-in was DIY with my key inside an envelope with my name on it. Apparently, they didn't know I had checked in because I got a cell phone message around 10pm checking to see if I was still coming, but we had already checked in, had been in the room for five hours, and were asleep when the call came in. Other than that weirdness, the room was clean and perfect for a quick sleep before we headed on to Great Sand Dunes NP! Excellent value for the price!"

"Very clean and updated, comfortable beds, huge t.v with satellite. Having a kitchen was very useful, back door from kitchen led to a communal deck with gas grills, that we also used ! Walked to river right behind unit that was nice very short walk. Only suggestion would be to have 2 chairs per unit on deck. There was a picnic table down from our but didn't use it, I would remove it and add the chairs. Very nice place they also had a hot tub but we did not use it. I'm so glad we stayed here !!"

Lovely cabin on pond with balcony, outdoor fire, and private hot tub
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (81)
"The place was roomy and accommodating. We had 4 guys, so it was nice not to have to share beds and to be able to spread out the snorers. Pros: -Spacious open feel -Hot tub -Everything as advertised -About as close to Wolf Creek as you can get Cons: (these are minor picky things) -Cookware was pretty basic -Had to do some snow shoveling to access the back porch -for some reason I imagined a remote cabin with a pond- it was actually a complex of many cabins on the property- but still quiet...
