4/5 - Good
I like it that it was close to the airport

Staff is very accommodating and welcoming. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Lobby bar/ restaurant was good as well. Rooms are a bit dated for the price, but it’s definitely a good option for a night or two close to airport.

When we went to Central Park, people were dancing to live local music. It was really cute
Alajuela itself was merely a jumping off spot for us, because our flights from and to NYC were late in the day. What made it special was Villa San Ignacio - lovely, restful surroundings and probably best meals of our entire trip.
Alajuela it is the best place to visit and stay in Costa Rica ,it is safe and beautiful .
We didn't really see any of the city - just drove through to get from Jaco to the hotel/airport.
If your from the states it’s not exactly your idea of a “gated community” but the whole country is that way we were fine visiting local stores and even shut down the local bar one night ( my Spanish is beyond weak) and found it to be a great experien
