This is a spectacular place to stay! Close to everything you want to visit, everything you need is here for your stay, great information book, the host is amazing, beds are comfortable, beautiful historic home! highly highly recommend!
I always enjoy my stay here. Safe quiet comfortable and a perfect distance to family. Very friendly and helpful hosts Everything you need, a home away from home.
The hosts were very responsive and answered all of our questions during our stay. It’s walkable distance to the Abita Brew Pub, Abita Cafe (great breakfast!), a snowball stand/coffee hut, the Abita Springs museum and more. Darling house with wrap around porch and nice backyard. Definitely recommend!
This was a lovely little house in a lovely little town!! If you like bike riding it is a block off the Tammany Trace bike trail! Hosts were great and very responsive! I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back again!!
Very quaint house. I especially liked the comfortable mattress and bedding! I also liked the fact that we were in the middle of town and could walk to the grocery store and bakery!
Very charming home in the heart of Abita Springs within walking distance of restaurants and different things to do. Melanie was very attentive and kind. I would recommend this location. 10/10.
My husband and I stayed at the historic house with our three children while visiting some relatives in Abita. We were very impressed with the very homey feeling of the house. The house was spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We also loved that we had access to washer and dryer, especially having kids that always seem to get their clothes messy. The house was in a perfect area of town, close enough to walk to the Abita cafe and the little grocery, too. We loved all the little Christmas decorations in the house, and all the unique touches the owner put into the decor. We can’t wait to stay again!
It’s evident that there was ALOT of work done to restore this darling shotgun home. The hosts Melanie and Cecil were there to greet me and were lovely to meet. They have created a little oasis of peacefulness in the heart of Abita Springs. Modern kitchen with coffee available. Many spices available for to use if you cooked in. A gift card to a local Restaurant that had an amazing Brunch. Washer Dryer new and functional. Bathroom was adequate with everything you’d need. It was decorated with plants galore in the kitchen. Antique rice and iron beds, armoires for clothing and other antique side tables. I loved the front door keyless entry. Perfect. Family was just a couple of miles in distance so this was perfect for our needs. Very relaxing stay. Already booked again for my next stay !
We loved our stay at this cute historic house—perfect size for two and super comfy. It was the ideal home base for visiting friends and family nearby. We walked to the Abita Brew Pub (great live music and food—definitely try the root beer float!) and the Sunday farmers market.Quick drive into downtown Covington for awesome shops and restaurants—check out the bookstore *Oxlot Books*, it’s a gem.The host was super responsive and everything was easy. We’d absolutely stay here again!
We had a wonderful weekend. Great place for cyclist. You can ride the Tammany Trace trail and enjoy nature and wildlife along the way. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. You can walk anywhere in this little town safely. The cafe was great for breakfast. Very friendly kind people. All around good experience. We will for sure go back.
Our visit to lovely Abita Springs was great. Melanie and Cecil’s historic shotgun house was adorable and suited us perfectly. I had a few questions during our stay and Melanie and Cecil responded quickly and were very helpful. I would definitely return to their listing and recommend it highly.
