Fantastic stop for working in the north, enjoyed my stay thoroughly and the staff were so lovely. Fantastic whisky bar I made full use of on my stay. Wish I’d made use of the breakfast and dinner while I was there as it looked and smelled amazing. Would return here in future 100%

Property was off main street and lots of big trucks passing by all the time. My room was not facing the street so it was just rumbles. Property hosts were very friendly but room condition was not the best. Missing toilet paper roll holder. Shower is small and has dirty grout. Restaurant downstairs not open.

A great tradtitional hotel

A nice, traditional hotel with great staff and an amazing breakfast included. Our room was not en-suite but toilet was immediately opposite. However the bargain price and great breakfast made it a great value hotel. Excellent staff.

Worst ever. No chef, no breakfast, manager had left, owner was moving to spain, felt every spring in the bed, felt every truck go past, shower leaked all over the floor and i probably could go on, tried to book out early, no staff and reception all locked up. Left key in post box and left. Would not recommend

Pleasant surprise

I wasn't too sure what to expect from the photographs of the exterior of the hotel. What a pleasant surprise? A big beautiful room with a modern bathroom and,.last but not least, a great breakfast.

Great location - needs TLC

Rothes is a cute village well situated near several distilleries. The staff were very nice and accommodating, however the facilities need work. Our shower leaked and the water temperatures varied greatly. The mirror was off the wall and there was no light above the sink.

Poor stay

The staff were excellent.fighting a losing battle against staff shortages and run down condition of the hotel generally. The view from our room window, which had neither blinds or net curtain, was of the rubbish bins against our window and the room smelt because of this. The bathroom was poorly equipped and very grubby. Finally the food was excellent though a limited choice on the evening menu. Specifically booked for parking but had to park across the road down a street.

What i paid for I could have stayed at the Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh for the same price! Frozen food, was directed to get my own menue for dinner, booked the delux suite irrespective of how many calls i made it wasn't we had traffic lights outside the room, lorrys going past, i could have cried as this wasnt a presset for 60th birthday. I would avoid at all cost even the community couldn't believe the star rating on the website. This should be enough to explain my disappointment

I came with some relatives, so we got two rooms. The first thing we noticed was the terrible smell of the kitchen, and when we got up to one of the rooms, the bathroom had NO lighting..:they said electrician canceled on them, and that’s not all. In both rooms, tons of stains were on the blanket, but the worst part was the BED BUGS in one of the rooms!!. When we went to complain, the person at the reception was calling a staff member (seemed to be the manager) and saying hushly, “the guests found them aga-” but then was cut off by the manager. Clearly they were aware of the issue. “Terrible” is too nice of a word to describe the conditions we saw at this place. Was surprised that such horrible places are even allowed to list on Expedia, which we have always trusted.

This hotel is closed. No one tells you that until you show up. Expedia did refund but findung a place to stay on the fly is a little tricky in this area. DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL.
