"I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Iriomote. There's lots of space on the property, including a massive bathroom and a huge terrace, with a sea view where you can see the stars at night. There's also lots of wildlife that can be easily seen from many areas on the property, for example frogs and coconut crabs. It's extremely peaceful, with only two rooms (and the other was unoccupied when we stayed) The breakfast each morning is small but delicious, and they take...

"First os all, we would like to apologize for such a delay in rating the Sukabura Inn, especially since we had a wonderful experience. The owner, Hiro, was attentive, helpful and cooked a superb breakfast (Japanese and Western!). We had good bikes to ride around the island, and the inn was at a very quiet part of the already peacful island, so we could hang out at the porch just listening to the wind and birds. "I wish I could give this stay more than five stars! The owner and his wife went out of their way to make sure my every need was taken care of. Be aware there are two ferries from Ishigaki, and only one has a shuttle to the hotel. If you’re going to rent a car book it early, but the island is very doable without a car as long as you go with the flow. The hotel is close to the river ferry which takes you to waterfall hike. And there are many local tours for paddle boarding, canoeing into the mangroves, snorkeling, etc. The sunsets at the hotel are beautiful and there are hammocks on the roof for stargazing. The food was wonderful as well! Thank you for a wonderful, unforgettable stay!!"
