"We were in town for a memorial service for the family Patriarch. This property was perfect for the family. Large yard, fire pit was definitely used. The kitchen!! Two sinks, two oven and microwave! All appliances in working condition. Clean, roomy, comfortable home. Owners were very easy to work with. We would rent again, if we ever found a need to be on the Eastern Shore."

"The Refuge Inn is a solid choice for Chincoteague, has character and unique qualities about it, set among pines and with a few half-wild ponies to interact with in a pen next to the hotel. The hotel is tasteful and solid, with a very helpful front desk, and free breakfast of an egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on a croissant delivered to your room each morning along with a homemade scone. Didn’t make it to the always-crowded pool, but the sauna was great as was the cool third-floor observation deck for evening relaxation. Good towels and mattresses pretty decent. Furniture a bit outdated. What wasn’t so great — air conditioner could barely cool the room on hot days, there was no night-light in the bathroom so hunting for the switch was annoying, and there was no drinking water source to refill your bottle in or near the just-okay fitness center — you had to go the front desk, where they were happy to fill you up from their water cooler in an adjacent room. I went during peak season, but feel I overpaid a bit, but we had a nice stay nonetheless. Their restaurant recommendations were a hit and a miss — the Village was incredible for seafood, Famous Pizza was terrible oily crust pizza, avoid. Oveall a decent experience that didn’t fully meet price expectations."
