We got a free upgrade to a room with a queen sized bed, which was great since we stayed in Kyoto for five days so having more space made our stay much more comfortable. We also loved that we were less than a 15 minute walk to the downtown shopping area (i.e., Nishiki market, great restaurants, etc.).
