「when I checked into my room at 5pm, all was fine. then I went into Ghent (lovely city) for the evening. when I got back a little after 11pm there was no power/lights in my room. and no staff to help! there was book on the desk in my room with hotel policies etc, but it was horribly outdated as it said to dial the front desk if one had any questions, but of course there are no longer any internal phones in the hotel. the next morning there was finally front desk staff, but they were incompetent...

「Hotel Steenhuyse was a very nice place for me to stay on my cycling trip to Flanders. Bart was a great host. He even sat and had a nice chat with me at breakfast. My room was very large, clean, and well-decorated. Breakfast was a buffet with a variety of meats, breads, pastries, and cereals. As a cycling fan from the U.S., I couldn't recommend a hotel more than this one. It is a few steps away from the Tour of Flanders museum, and a short ride from the famous climbs of the Ronde.
