The rooms were NOT at all like photos...quality or design. Asked to be moved 3 times to get features we specifically needed. They did finally get us a decent room, but hotel is still quite run down. it was my birthday and they brought me a cake to make up for it
I had a great one-night stay at Tryp before my flight out the next morning. The service is top-notch and friendly. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner but I was only staying for one night before an early AM flight out of Yangon which was only a 10-15 minute drive from the hotel.
The receptionist was very keen to help me in finding nearby food options when I arrived and helping any way she could. The breakfast was just fine. The bed was comfortable and clean.
The building from the outside is impressive, and therefore I think that the lobby should have more of an atmosphere to match. I would recommend TRYP for a short convenient stay.
Basic hotel don’t expect too much. Hardware overall old and dated despite cosmetic renovation. Noisy from early morning and curtain too short to keep morning sun out so don’t expect to sleep late well. Breakfast again barely ok but not much nearby. Go to Lotte or Melia for a better international standard (in Myanmar you’ll be grateful to have that to come back to).
All staff speak fluent English. The Suite room we book was a bit rundown. There was not much around the hotel, and the traffic noise was very loud since it situated next to the main road.
The in-room service was good, and the price is reasonable.
Hotel staff make all of the difference! Mr. Thet Win & Ms Thandar as well as other front desk and restaurant staff make us feel like we have come home. Staff willing to help in most any way to make us feel comfortable. Outstanding service; we met the new manager, Mr. Kashi this last visit and found him to be professional, friendly and clearly behind the provision of customer service priority. No hesitation in recommending this hotel!
A very nice hotel close to airport. The taxi agent inside the terminal asked for 10,000 MMK and I got it down to 8,000 ($8 Canadian). The next morning I asked the hotel to get a taxi for me to airport to meet the tour group. I only paid 3,000 MMK. Hotel agent told me it should be not more than 5,000. Find out how much you should pay from local. Not to deal with taxi agent inside the terminal. Get the taxi from the curb side and agree on a fare first. They don’t have meter inside theta u
