"We had a text a couple of days before and were able to ask a couple of questions. We were welcomed by Vernon on arrival and shown around the hotel. Vernon was keen to show the girls the dancing and they had a long session the next morning. Breakfast was cereal and we had coffee and tea. The guest house is very clean and tidy and welcoming. Best Western The Dartmouth Hotel Golf & Spa

"Room was really clean and spacious. Child's bed was not substantial at all. Hot weather meant room was very hot as no A/C. Only 1 small fan available which wasn't effective for a large room. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Spa was small but ok. Pool unavailable due to 'high levels' on last day of 2 nights. Didn't have breakfast there but menu looked ok. We had dinner on one of the nights and staff were great. Food arrive in good time. Quality was ok."

Stylish modern dog friendly two bedroom chalet in Dartmouth

"We stayed 2 nights whilst visiting family so basically just slept here rather than spend any time in it but it's a lovely little chalet for that purpose, very very clean. Everything you need they've thought of and provided. Tea, coffee, biscuits, shower gel etc and nice brands, not basic brands.. They even left treats for the dog which he loved. The grounds were also great for the dog to have a run around. Negatives: Needs a decent shower, the shower was not good and it definitely needs a dehumidifier, it gets very damp hence a strong musty smell of damp throughout the chalet, worse in the evenings. If these 2 things were put in place, it would be the perfect little stopover."

"Fabulous stay. Good accommodation for us all, 8 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. All very comfortable and well equipped. The pool table/table tennis was a great hit!The area was stunning. We had great days on beautiful beaches at Slapton Sands, Dartmouth and Paignton. "

"The place is surface level clean but if you end up having to move furniture e.g because you drop something behind the bedside table, it’s quite dirty. That’s just one example, inside the cleaning cupboard, if you need a broom for example, again, dirty. The electric meter cost way more than the estimates provided. Please note that we stayed in the cold month of December. We never really got it toasty warm like with central heating. The electric meter had a momentary blip where it would keep rejecting coins despite using it fine the evening before. We appreciate this isn’t an issue the owners have experienced before but just highlighting it did happen to us. The shower was weak & took a while to get used to. Again, the owners say they haven’t experienced problems reported before but we’re highlight that, for us, it wasn’t an easy “turn it on & you’re away” like our home shower. It’s temperamental. In trying to get it warm enough. It’s tired & things like door frames could do with a lick of paint and there’s splatter marks in the main bedroom. Light switches aren’t where you would intuitively reach for them, like in the second bedroom. And the decor and furniture is poor. My husband and I can pick things up pretty quickly but we just found the who found the whole thing a faff. If you’re on a very tight budget and have the time to read & learn everything- it’ll probably be fine. But we’ll never return. On a plus, the bed was comfy & the kids enjoyed the bunk beds. "

"We would not visit Dartmouth again due to the difficulty parking. The Park and Ride was a nightmare, we cannot believe that cards were not acceptable and the parking app was problematic. In the chalet the seating opposite the TV was extremely uncomfortable. We would have appreciated instructions on how to work the electric oven as we are used to gas cooking. Otherwise very well equipped."

"Had a really comfortable stay, chalet was clean and tidy and had everything you needed. Location was perfect for getting about every where we wanted and Dartmouth harbour was 7 mins away in the car. My only criticism and it’s not really of any concern is that the outside lacks curb appeal and gives you a wrong first impression as the inside is fine for what it is."
