Fantastic family get away. This is our second visit. Very peaceful. Rustic yet comfortable and cozy. Tons of nature- including an otter spotting! Campfire pit for s’mores. Enjoyed renting the kayaks. Dan was a wonderful host.

Worked Out Great!

This was a great place for our group of six to stay to enjoy some winter fun in Hayward. I highly recommend the property and the attentive host. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen because we had a few large meals to prepare.

Early May adventure.

Very nice and comfortable cabin, excellent frontage on Black Dan Lake. Great opportunities for fishing and other enjoyable lakeside activities.

Wonderful Place!

This place fit our needs perfectly - spacious, clean and beautiful property. The kids enjoyed the swimming and hydrobike; comfortable furniture and beds; easy to find on a quiet lake. Dan was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Cabin Stay

Everything was as advertised except for we had to get a new LP tank for the gas grill as we did not see any refills around. There also was not any firewood around the cabin so had to buy some of that. Not a big deal overall. The lake was nice and cabin had ample room for our family.

Labor Day getaway

Wonderful views of the lake from the whole property. Plenty of room for multiple boats and kayaks. We could swim off the shore. A lot of room for everyone to sleep and watch TV. Kitchen/ dining area was not big enough for our 5 adults and four kids. We were also told the week before we got there that the washer was not working. We had to go to the laudry mat in town. The game room could use some updating.

Great view family cabin

This cabin was big enough to accommodate a family of 4 with adult children. The view from the closed in porch was spectacular! We enjoyed sitting out there and on the deck looking over the water. There is dish available and the living room was accommodating to fit the whole family to relax at the end of the day. When we booked this a year prior it was advertised to have a washer/dryer and wifi. A week prior to our stay we were notified of no washer/dryer. We were able to plan accordingly and there is a laundry mat in town. We were not made aware of the wifi that was not available until after we checked in. This was unfortunate as one of the parents is in school and needs the ability to work remote. Dan was sympathetic and offered to come out to use his hot spot. Overall was a wonderful spot and would consider renting again in the future!

Serene, Tranquil and Fun!

We stayed at the Lake House in Winter, WI for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The absolute best part of our stay was the lake. The house is set up with windows across the back of the house for a beautiful view of the lake from all living areas. There are plenty of rooms for people to sneak off to for their own quiet time, whether it be the living room with a lot of seating, the kitchen, the screened in porch or the outside deck facing the lake. We spent a lot of time playing in the lake and floating on our inflatables; renting the kayaks was our best extra purchase. You just need to think through how much you will use the rentals. We grilled steaks, hamburgers, brats and shishkabobs on the gas grill which was very convenient. And there was plenty of seating around the fire pit with a great view of the lake. There are air conditioning window units in the upstairs loft and queen room and a window air conditioner for the living room area. Just need to be strategic in placing fans to blow the cool air to the 1st floor bedrooms which didn't have air. We had an excellent time with our family. The rental fee is reasonable and we made wonderful memories. Thank you for everything!

Perfect for what we needed

We rented this for the weekend for a family birthday party. We had 3 couples and it was perfect for all of us to hangout. It was clean and comfortable. The metal grate on the floor for heat was ridiculously hot but other than that no issues.

Unfortunately, our stay at this property did not meet expectations. We even ended up leaving a day and a half early. There were several unexpected issues that made the visit uncomfortable. For a four-night stay, only one roll of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels were provided, and there were no towels available anywhere in the home — not in the bathrooms or the kitchen.The property was not clean upon arrival. There was visible dust throughout, dead bugs in multiple areas. Additionally, there were security cameras located in common areas, which made us feel uneasy about privacy.There were also several small, additional charges for using basic items or amenities, which left the impression of being nickel-and-dimed.The tipping point for us was when we saw mice running across the floor in 3 separate rooms (upstairs and downstairs), we ended up packing up and leaving late at night.Overall, the property requires significant attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and guest comfort. I would not recommend it.

Beautiful property

The place was easy to find. The fishing for our 5 year old and 8 year old was fantastic. Swimming was a tad awkward but doable…water shoes are a must. The family thoroughly enjoyed the hydro bikes and kayaks. Owner was very attentive to questions.

Amazing place

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. The property was in excellent condition with all necessities and lots of extras available. There was more than enough room for our group Of 7. The views were stunning. Will definitely be back again.
