Perfect location for a visit to Windsor

Great location for easy walk to train station , buses & center of Windsor . Good communication and comfortable room with tea coffee & a fridge in room .

Perfect location. Easy check in. Very spacious room. Bed was comfortable. Quite. Clean however pillows towels and carpet could do with renewing. Was as expected for price.

Great short break location

Our 2 night stay in William was just what we needed...an extremely comfy bed, constant hot water and a great location. ..river, castle and shops all within easy walking distance. The door code check-in was very convenient and gave flexibility and accessibility at all times.

This is not a hotel; it is some really nice rooms for rent. You get a code for the doors and never see any people. Once going in, you just see a few rooms downstairs and 3 rooms upstairs. If you cannot carry your bags up a flight of stairs make sure you request a room downstairs. The rooms were very clean and very large. It was very quiet and I got lots of rest. Across the street was a grocery store to get anything you need. The Castle was a short walk (5 minutes) and plenty of places to eat by the Castle. From the Heathrow Airport you can take an Uber for $40 pound or take the Flightline 703 bus for $4 pound. The Flightline 703 picks up outside Terminal 5 and will drop you right at the Charles House. There is 23 stops but they go very quickly and have space for your luggage.

Exceeded my expectations, beautiful house and room (Harry) clean, bright, and spacious with very pretty furniture. The bed was super comfortable, slept wonderfully. The street is busy, with cars and people using it all night, nothing loud, just enough background noise to put you to sleep. The other guests were very quiet, only heard a family coming in at 9 and another one leaving at 7:30. Super location, 10 minutes walk from the castle and with a parking lot 50 yards away. Another plus is the Co-op corner store right across the street. I loved it and will definitely use it if I come to Windsor again.

Wish I stayed longer!! The hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with and made the check in process so simple. Overall it was such an adorable accommodation, it was close to everything, there was lots of natural light, had a fan, and the bed was so so comfortable! Felt like I was at home. Would definitely book again!

Very easy check in, property is on a main road opposite a large co op food store and within easy walking distance to the castle and high street. Stayed in Victoria which is a very large room, very clean and comfortable, large fridge which was useful and all the amenities needed for a stay. Quiet within the property. Good value for the area and would stay again. Host was prompt to answer queries and friendly.

We reserved 2 rooms, one was dirty (hadn't been cleaned after the last guest), no one was available to take care of it. We waited about 3 hours to be told we could have access to another room that was half the size. We did not get a credit for the change in rooms. All rooms are very dated and run down. Location was fine, very quiet but a bit of a walk to town (far more than 5 minutes).

One night stay.

Hotel has good location. Room (Victoria, on first floor) was large and clean. Easy access into room using keypad. Owner was helpful with issue booking through hotels.com. Allowed us an early check in, which was appreciated. We did have an issue where we were woken up around midnight with the lights flickering on and off, a smell of electrical wires burning and a sound of electric arcing. This went on until about 2 am and then stopped. We were worried the rest of the night there may be a fire, so didnt sleep soundly. When we got up the next morning, we had no power in any outlets, the tv or kettle. We did send a message to the owners to advise and have not heard back. Overall stay was ok.

Bring an air conditioner

The room was hotter than hades. We couldnt sleep for crap. There was no air circulation whatsoever. No fan provided at bare minimum. We endured a miserable night.

My husband and I stayed at Charles House in Windsor in September. The positives were that it was close to the train station and Windsor Castle. The negatives: on arrival, after a long day of walking on the Thames Path we were upset to discover that the room hadn't been cleaned. The bed was unmade, dirty towels littered the floor, the garbage was full, there were dirty dishes on the table, and lots of hairs in the shower. No one answered my telephone call but they did text back and I explained the problem. It took about ninety minutes to learn that no one was available to clean and then we were given the wrong code for the cleaner's room. Finally we got access to the cleaner's room and we cleaned the room ourselves, carrying all the clean items we needed upstairs and all the dirty items back downstairs. We were offered a refund on our first night's stay but after texting back and forth for almost a month, we have not received this refund. We had hiked a long stretch of the Thames Path and ended our journey in Windsor. The experience at Charles House ruined the end of our trip. Expedia For TD did reimburse me for a portion of our first night's stay which was very decent of them but Charles House behaved quite dishonourably. I will not stay at a place with no one on site in the future.

To much can go wrong.

With no onsite reception everything is more complicated. You need to receive email with codes to enter. But I received a mail saying I hadn't paid when hotel.com had charged my credit card. 2 days of worries and chats back and forth. Then there was no hot water for two of the 3 nights we were there more worries. They offered a late check out as compensation. Without all that it would be a fine place. Nothing fancy.
