A couple of previous reviews had commented upon general cleanliness and we found a child’s toy under the dining table when we got there and an odd sock behind the sofa, suggesting the cleaning wasn’t particularly thorough. 「Check in was easy and location was good, thise are the only positives.
The property is extremely dated and dirty. The furnishings in communal areas were torn, threadbare, stained, dirty and smelly. The carpets were dirty, covered in dog and human hair. 「4 night stay April 2026 (Sunday to Thursday) - accommodation very clean, comfortable and modern, hosts very welcoming - location peaceful (a few sheep and horses over the fence at the bottom of the garden, but no noise) and nice dark skies (I saw a few Lyrid meteors during my stay!). Great kitchen facilities (so you can easily self-cater if you want) and excellent shower, better accommodation than a hotel if visiting the area IMHO.
