Welcome to the Lumberjack Shack! Step back in time and experience the rustic charm of this 100-year-old popple log cabin near Rock Dam Lake, and campground! Once the sleep shack for the WPA workers, the cabin was drug to it's resting spot on Windy Creek where it still sits today. Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin's lush forest, this location offers endless miles of ATV, & snowmobile trails with access just up the road. Beach, two bars, waterfall, small store & campground just a couple minutes walk! Outisde the cabin you will find Windy Creek offering opportunites to watch beaver, ducks, birds, & other wildlife. Row boat, and two kayaks on premises for guest use, the inlet bay is not connected to the lake unless you venture through the culverts on kayaks which people have done!! The screened in porch is a great place to relax, and the lot is very private. A true "cabin" experience with modern amenities!

My friends and I were looking for a place to stay for a weekend for my birthday. I found the property It looked like exactly what we were looking for and the price was right. Very comfortable and cozy cabin with plenty of room and everything we needed. We will definitely be back next year and I highly suggest for anyone to look into them for a comfortable getaway.

Great getaway spot. Clean. Well stocked kitchens supplies. Had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. Private outdoor area. Large smart TVs. Great communication with host.

Nice clean cabin, we loved feeling like we were in the woods and the screened porch was great for playing cards in the evening. The driveway was a little tricky having a large trailer. Overall it was a great stay.

Property and lodging was excellent. The cabin was clean and had everything we could have needed. It was a great stay.A minor concern was the waterfront didn't connect to the nearby lake, so we needed to transport the kayaks to the boat launch a short distance down the road, but that was a minor inconvenience.

Private Cabin with Everything You Need

The cabin had everything we needed for our stay! We enjoyed our time very much. I highly recommend and would stay here again. The cabin is fantastic. It is a short walk or drive to Rock Dam Lake. We stopped by Cal's, spent time on the lake, and enjoyed a long, quiet walk on the country roads and ATV trails. No cell service for Verizon customers. Wifi was appreciated!!

Hidden Gem!

We stayed here over memorial weekend and we were the first renters for the house! The house was equipped with everything we needed and nicely decorated. We loved kayaking on the lake, bon fires at night, cards in the screened in porch, grilling on their new grill, star gazing and just enjoyed being away from a busy city with our two dogs. Shannon was very helpful and responsive; we did have an issue with the water heater but being a holiday weekend there wasn’t much Shannon could do, we still made the best of the trip! There’s a bar and grill across the street where allot of locals on ATV’s like to hang out at. Everyone was very friendly and it was nice that they sold firewood! We could hear another bar down the street had a live band playing music on Saturday night, it wasn’t too loud, but we enjoyed hearing the music and it ended before quiet time. Overall, I would highly recommend, and we had a great relaxing time!
