Staff were very helpful, room and facilities were clean the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. If I return to Wigan I will definitely try to book into the Crown again
Good food, friendly and professional staff, Nice atmosphere, comfortable room with everything that is needed. Plenty of parking and outside seating as well. The only downside especially for work is the Wifi which only worked in the bar and only if you have facebook.
My room was fairly small but comfortable, with a well lit desk for doing some work. The eveing meal was typical basic pub food, but quite OK. I will stay here again next time I'm working in this area.

Property was clean and room was comfortable. The food was lovely but let down by a cold reception on arrival. The only person who smiled or showed any ‘ friendliness’ was a young girl serving behind the bar. Such a shame.

Liked: Cleanliness
Cheap and generally cheerful
Generally acceptable and it was cheap. Surprised that restaurant was closed when i arrived in the mid evening (a Monday) and there is no breakfast option. Some light bulbs were not working. Staff generally pleasant, although they called me at 9am to ask where i was when i hadn't yet checked out (10am checkout!). Convenient and cheap for what i wanted, which was basically a bed.
Avoid if you like to have a clean room while staying away. The pictures on hotels.com do not represent my actual room. The pictures attached sum up room 1. Despite requesting a receipt a number of times we still haven’t received one. Whilst not expecting a sea view out the window I did not like the view of the yard out the window covered in dog faeces. I had to go and ask for towels as they were not in the room. We were told at check in that there would be no breakfasts served in the week. This wasn’t mentioned at the booking stage as it was listed as a bed and breakfast. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as we dread to think what the kitchen is like. Can 100% recommend the short drive to The White Lion at Wrightington for amazing food. There were no glasses for water or a mug to make a cup of tea or coffee. Then again looking in the dirty jar of very old coffee I would never have made one. At the end of the day it’s cheap at this hotel and if you pay cheap you get cheap.

The owner was vile, with clearly anger issues, when I rang his mobile number (which came with the booking confirmation) instead of the accommodation itself
After being shown my room, there was no batteries in the remote, I looked for a different remote in case it was the wrong one, then found dirty male pants, in a draw. I went to go to reception to informed them of the issues but met the staff member who showed me to my room half way up the stairs with other customers I politely and quietly told her of the problems and was told it would be sorted, I went into the empty pub underneath sat (in full view) and had A beer while the problems were resolved, the girl who I spoke to came back behind the bar and started chatting and going on their phones, I presumed someone else was sorting out my request I sat in the bar for 45 minutes nobody said a word to me, I went back to my room the key wouldn’t work, I called another member of staff she couldn’t do it asking if I had the right key, but then it opened, the remote was still where I’d left it and the pants, I asked her to sort it out for me, she took the remote and pants (hanging off one finger) another 15 minutes later I’m still sitting on the end of my bed with no remote, I walked down into the bar the two staff were in a huddle with another person chatting phones out, upon seeing me the second girl prompted “oh I was just coming to see you, to tell you we are moving you” by then it was too late there’s only so much u can take
