「All the staff were kind. The facilities were old but well-maintained and clean. The breakfast was delicious.」

「Great stay - convenient location just a short walk from the high st and attached to a fabulous restaurant. We stayed on the top floor - great room but a bit tricky for anyone who is less mobile or quite tall. Really great friendly service from the staff from start to finish.」

Hotels of this kind usually stand out because of their warm, personal welcome. Here, the opposite was true. The reception was reserved and unwelcoming, and communication was kept to the bare minimum. Sunday lunch was the highlight of my stay: fresh, flavoursome and very enjoyable. As a result, and having read...
