We enjoyed our mini break stay at the Thistlebank Townhouse in Whitby. Our host was very friendly and greeted us on arrival and was helpful and informative.

The location and having car parking is really good. The house has a lot of history and is really quirky. Lots of space - in both the house, our bedroom and the bathroom. There were a few little missing touches that would have made our stay even better: - although there is a cupboard and large set of drawers for clothes there were no coat hangers - there was nowhere to hang the hand towels in the bathroom. We had to just place them on the window sill - there is a small common room with 4 table top fridges and facilities for guests to make breakfast etc. We assumed that the fridges were allocated individually for each bedroom but this was not clear and there was already milk / food in all the fridges. It would be better if the fridges were numbered / identified and clearly allocated to individual rooms - there was no guest information in the bedroom so we had to make assumptions - the accommodation does have wifi but we didn’t find the login details till we were leaving. The details are in the lobby / hallway but the host did not tell us that

Beautiful house in good location, comfortable room

Beautiful Georgian house in good location, walking distance into the Town, and to all local restaurants and sights. Comfortable room with large modern shower/bathroom. Host was very friendly and helpful with local information and advice. Lots to see, many good eateries, and good local transport if you wish to get out along the coast.

The property is located in an excellent position just a few minutes walk from the town and harbour. Parking available at the property. Property was very well maintained with modern fittings and very clean in all areas. The rooms are large and well presented with tea and coffee making facilities. Nathan was an excellent host. The only downside to my five night stay was that I booked a room with a city view however my room only had skylights and I would have needed a stepladder to see the city view! The room was also a little on the darkside due to having only small skylights. Although fridges were available to use in a separate facilities room, a fridge in the room would have been better. Had no Internet service during my stay but Nathan explained that a new system had just been installed and it was not working properly and was waiting for it to be sorted. TV channels were also limited. Would I stay at the Thistle Bank again... YES for sure. Thank you Nathan.

We had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and everything was spotless and inviting. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location is perfect - close enough to explore Whitby’s attractions but in a peaceful spot for a good night’s sleep. We couldn’t have asked for better hospitality. Highly recommended!
