The Space:

Built in 1760, this home has been lovingly restored by the family who own it, following guidance from Historic England.



The heart of this home is the sophisticated living area, thoughtfully fitted with comfortable seating and a television that makes it easy for guests to unwind. With tasteful décor and a statement, non-functioning fireplace, the room has an inviting and calming ambience.



The well-equipped kitchen provides everything that guests need for quick snacks and delicious meals during their stay, whether it's for a short term break or a longer getaway. There is an adjoining seating area where guests can sit to enjoy these meals together.



In the bedroom at The Chimneys, there is a luxurious king-size bed complete with comfortable furnishings and quality bedding, to ensure a restful night's sleep. With stunning views, ample storage and a dressing table, this elegant room offers a relaxing sanctuary throughout each stay.



The gorgeous bathroom combines contemporary style with luxurious features. Enjoy a refreshing shower in the large walk-in or indulge in a relaxing soak in the freestanding slipper bath. Additional touches include an illuminated anti-fog bathroom cabinet with charging point and plantation shutters for guest's privacy.



The Chimneys offers stunning views of both the Abbey and the sea. From other windows, guests can enjoy picturesque vistas of the harbour and the moors. Perched above the tallest trees in the beautiful Pannett Park, the property provides a truly elevated perspective of the surrounding landscape.



While The Chimneys does not have its own outdoor space, its central location means Whitby's best attractions are just moments away. From scenic harbour walks and sandy beaches to independent shops and excellent restaurants, everything is within easy reach.



Guest Access:

Guests will be provided access details prior to arrival at the property.

Parking is available outside the property, however these aren't designated so it will be a first come basis. Alternative parking is available at the local pay and display's.

Please note there is a narrow, winding staircase with 35 steps that lead you to the entrance of the property. We would recommend bringing smaller luggage.



The Neighborhood:

The Chimneys is situated on St Hilda’s Terrace, a sought-after residential area on Whitby’s West Cliff. The neighbourhood combines the charm of historic Victorian architecture with easy access to the town centre, making it popular amongst both permanent residents and visitors.



The area is within walking distance of Whitby’s sandy beaches, the town centre, local shops, cafés, restaurants and the railway station. Nearby green spaces, including Pannett Park, provide attractive recreational opportunities, while the dramatic Yorkshire coastline and surrounding countryside offer excellent walking and outdoor pursuits.



The golden sands of Whitby Beach are within easy walking distance, ideal for family days out, seaside strolls and enjoying spectacular sunsets. Nearby attractions include the historic harbour, the famous 199 Steps, Whitby Abbey, the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the charming cobbled streets of the old town.

Getting Around:

Whitby railway station provides regular services to Middlesbrough via the scenic Esk Valley Line, while local bus services offer connections throughout Whitby and to neighbouring coastal towns and villages.



For motorists, the A171 and A169 provide direct routes to Scarborough, Pickering, Guisborough and the wider North Yorkshire region.



Other Things to Note:

Please note that this property is not suited for children and is pet free. This is because the property has many steep and narrow stairs with no suitable storage space for children's equipment, making the restriction necessary.

Guests are advised to bring smaller suitcases if possible as the staircase to the property is narrow and winding.
