Secluded Woodland Retreat on a Quiet Spring-Fed Lake Wildlife Haven – Bald Eagles, Deer & Nature All Around Near Pictured Rocks – Scenic 25-Mile Drive Through Hiawatha Forest
Tucked deep in the woods on a quiet spring-fed lake, Moose Lodge is a peaceful retreat surrounded by wildlife, towering trees, and total privacy. Just a scenic 25-mile drive through the Hiawatha National Forest brings you to Munising and Pictured Rocks. The cabin is located on Cranberry Lake with a sister property nearby, thoughtfully positioned to maintain a peaceful and private setting for both homes.. A wood-burning fireplace, snow-covered trees, and a peaceful lake setting create a cozy winter hideaway worth the ride. You can rent one or both for larger families!
Moose Lodge on Cranberry Lake is everything the Upper Peninsula is known for—peaceful woods, abundant wildlife, and a setting that allows you to truly unplug and relax.
Located on a small, private inland lake just 25 miles from Munising and Pictured Rocks, the drive itself is part of the experience—winding through the scenic beauty of the Hiawatha National Forest.
This beautiful log home offers approximately 1,600 square feet of warm, inviting space designed for comfort and connection. The main living area features a stunning stone wood-burning fireplace, a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a gas range), and a log dining table perfect for gathering after a day outdoors.
The main floor includes a primary bedroom with a queen log bed, as well as a bunk room with twin log bunks—ideal for children or additional guests. A full bathroom and laundry are also located on this level. Sliding glass doors provide views of the peaceful lake and surrounding woods.
Upstairs, the loft offers a cozy sitting area with a log-style couch and an oversized bean bag chair—perfect for reading, relaxing, or unwinding. The third bedroom with a full-size bed and an additional full bathroom are also located on the loft level.
The home comfortably sleeps 6 guests in beds, with space for up to 2 additional guests using an air mattress or couches. Please be sure to enter the correct number of guests when booking so pricing is accurate.
Outside, enjoy a large fire pit and the quiet beauty of the surrounding forest. The lake is ideal for paddling, fishing, and enjoying nature from the dock. Please note this is not a traditional swimming lake, as there is no beach and the lake bottom is soft and natural.
Cranberry Lake is a quiet, spring-fed inland lake known for its clear water and peaceful, natural setting. Guests can enjoy casual fishing for northern pike, yellow perch, and panfish such as bluegill from the dock or a small boat. Included is a 14' fishing boat (two bench seats), a canoe and paddles, anchor, oars, and life vests provided for guest use. Whether you're casting a line, paddling the shoreline, or simply taking in the peaceful surroundings, the lake offers a true Northwoods experience. You are welcome to bring along a small motor or electric motor. Bring your own kayaks.
For winter guests, snowmobile trail access is nearby, with the trailhead approximately 4 miles from the property. Riders can access the trail via wide ditch riding along County Road 440.
The garage is available for parking or working on sleds in the winter, and there is ample space for large trailers.
Moose Lodge shares the property with a nearby sister cabin, thoughtfully positioned with wooded surroundings to maintain a quiet and private setting. If you have 12 to 16 guess you might enjoy renting both cabins.
