"Wonderful staff, great location, not many amenities, no pool for one. The hotel is a little dated, but the service and location make up for all of that. Would definitely go back again."

"I only spent a night at this hostel, but it was a good experience. The complimentary drink was a welcome surprise. The breakfast was good, but I could have used some milk and sweetener for my coffee (it could be that they keep those on the back or something, I was running out so can't really tell and had no time to ask). Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and so were the washrooms, which are for a single occupant at a time. I used one of the single rooms and it was quiet and cozy. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Victoria."

"Overall, the Strathcona is a nice little hotel in a great, central location for a decent, competitive price. My only complaint is about the bath towels. They were those super small ones that I could barely fit around my body (and I'm a small-medium size woman). They were also fairly threadbare as though they had been used, washed, bleached, and dried roughly 10,000 times."
