The proximity to Wells, known for its famous cathedral and shopping district, as well as Burnham-on-Sea with its golden sandy beaches and seaside shops and restaurants, makes this an ideal location. To the north, discover the renowned Cheddar Gorge.

Guest access Venturing outside from the main door in the kitchen/diner you will find yourself on the small balcony with outside seating and views over the courtyard, orchard and surrounding countryside and further shared lawn areas with seating. It is a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings. There is always a secluded spot to enjoy some alfresco dining being set in a couple of acres with a mature orchard leading down to a stream, which you are very welcome to use and explore. There is also off-road parking for 1 car approximately 50 yards from the property along a level path. Other things to note Wedmore may be less famous than its neighbours Wells and Cheddar, but this historic settlement, once referred to as the ‘Isle of Wedmore’ due to its elevated position above the flood-prone Levels and nestled between the River Axe and River Brue, has a rich past and today is a bustling, characterful village.
For such a little village, it really packs a punch, like the annual ‘Turnip Prize’, a spoof of the famous Turner Prize, which celebrates hilariously bad artwork. Wedmore is also home to art festivals and opera productions, drawing people in far and wide.
There’s also an annual Real Ale Festival in September where you can sample 60 of the best ales, ciders and perrys that can be found in Somerset. And if cider is your thing, head to nearby Wilkins Cider Farm, a family-run establishment and a proper taste of Somerset offering local cheeses and more alongside
