The Space
Phoenix`s Place is a three-story, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom rowhouse built in 1900, thoughtfully updated while preserving its quintessential DC character. Every level has been designed with your group`s comfort and experience in mind.
Main Floor: Enter from the street into an inviting open living and dining area with a fully stocked kitchen and a semi-private workspace. Step through to the private backyard, a furnished outdoor dining space perfect for al fresco meals or morning coffee.
Top Floor: The primary bedroom features a king bed. The second bedroom offers a queen bed, giving couples or guests their own private retreat at the top of the house with access to a full bathroom.
Basement — The third bedroom features a queen bed and has access to a full bathroom and in-unit laundry. The basement also connects directly to the backyard and to Phoenix`s Place`s most talked-about feature.
The Speakeasy
Tucked away on the basement level is a fully private, hidden speakeasy lounge, a one-of-a-kind amenity you won`t find anywhere else in DC. The space features a sectional sofa, a dedicated TV, and a fully outfitted bar setup, creating the perfect atmosphere for an evening in with your group. Please note alcohol is not provided, bring your own and make it your own. Whether you`re hosting a private gathering, watching the game, or simply unwinding after a day of exploring the capital, the speakeasy is an experience guests consistently describe as the highlight of their stay.
The home is climate-controlled throughout with mini-split units in each room, allowing guests to set their own temperature preferences independently, ideal for groups where everyone runs at a different comfort level.
Outdoor Space
Phoenix`s Place includes a private furnished backyard with a dining table, accessible from both the main floor and the basement level, perfect for outdoor meals, evening gatherings, or a quiet morning outside. In a dense Capitol Hill neighborhood, private outdoor space is a genuine luxury.

Phoenix`s Place is ideally suited for guests who want to explore DC without a car. H Street`s free Trolley connects to Union Station and the Metro system within minutes. Rideshare is abundant and recommended for getting around the city. Street parking in Capitol Hill requires parallel parking, and while spots are typically available within a few blocks, guests who prefer not to deal with city parking will find rideshare a more convenient option. Please note the home has steeper interior staircases with handrails and good lighting throughout. Guests with significant mobility considerations should keep this in mind when booking.
Good to Know
Phoenix`s Place is a fully private rental. Your group has exclusive access to the entire home, backyard, and speakeasy lounge for the duration of your stay. Pets are welcome with an additional $100 fee. We are available from your first inquiry through the end of your stay for anything you need. A fully refundable security hold will be authorized within 5 days of arrival and released within 48 hours of checkout inspection.
