Restored Distillery, Sunroom + Sauna
Welcome to the Historic Distillery House - a refined retreat with deep Lancaster County roots. Once a working whiskey distillery, the home now blends storied architecture with magazine-worthy interiors and top-tier amenities. Every corner has been thoughtfully curated by the owners (your hosts!), who manage the property personally to ensure a one-of-a-kind guest experience. Inside the Home Kitchen & Dining – The chef’s kitchen features quartzite countertops, Moen fixtures, and a Thor gas stove. A Restoration Hardware table seats 10, with a large island and bar stools for casual bites. The kitchen is fully stocked and beautifully integrated into the home’s historic character.
Sunroom – This light-filled, two-story space is the heart of the home. A wood stove adds ambiance in winter; in warmer months, ceiling fans and energy-tinted windows keep it comfortable. A daybed and TV make it a great spot to read or relax.
Second-Floor Living Room – Cathedral ceilings, a Pottery Barn sleeper sofa, a 70” Roku TV, a game table, and a Peloton Bike+ make this a guest favorite.

Stayed 9 days with 3 generations family and everyone had fun and a memorable stay. We had every convenience there with peaceful land all around. We visited many local sites and enjoyed coming home each night to comfortable beds and surroundings. The children never wanted to leave!
This is our second visit to this home. Home is beautiful, well stocked and clean. Setting is very peaceful and convenient to Lancaster offerings. It is a comfortable home for a multi generational family visit.
We were in the area to celebrate a birthday and the space was fantastic. The kitchen is fully stocked and we were able to cook each night during our stay. The home was impeccably clean and the decor was phenomenal.
Beautiful place. Everything we needed and so clean and organized! It's a rare place. Done really well. Not only would I stay again I could live there!
Thank you!
We had a wonderful stay in Columbia. The house was comfortable and well appointed. It was perfect staying as two families with young kids. The older kids shared the twin bed room. The different living areas made it nice to give each family a little space and also great hang out options.
Historic home with great amenities and tasteful decor. High tech heating system suffered a short-term glitch and Corey went above and beyond to make sure we stayed comfortable and had options. I would really this Vrbo without any hesitation!!
This house was a dream! I love the extra wide real wood floors, the stone walls. deep set windows, sun room and the majestic evergreens just outside the house. It was a short stay but I’d love to come back.
It feels remote on this property, but it is so convenient to everywhere in the county. It is both historic and subtly modernized. Beautifully furnished, comfortable beds and pillows, clean! Unlike most rentals, it even has top quality toilet paper! We'll be returning. Many thanks to our gracious hosts.
We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing property! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by how clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated everything was. It truly felt like a home away from home, but better! The charm of the house is undeniable; every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether we were relaxing in the cozy living room, eating in the fully equipped kitchen, or enjoying our morning coffee with a view, every moment here was special. The location was perfect, peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to everything we needed. And the hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, making sure we had everything for a comfortable stay. We’re already dreaming about coming back – highly, highly recommended!
This house has a combination of modern updated amenities and rustic charm. The kitchen is has a lot of room and all of the modern necessities. the bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained with a gas outdoor fire and a nice gas grill. There is lots of room for relaxing in the upstairs living area and the first floor sun room. The hosts responded to messages quickly and made check in and check out easy.
We stayed here for Thanksgiving. Kitchen was great for cooking and property was so cozy. Everything has been beautifully renovated. Will definitely come back next time we’re in the area!
We truly didn’t want to leave! The house combines the perfect blend of original rustic charm with all the modern touches and amenities. Every detail has been curated to create a warm, inviting and relaxing atmosphere. The house is located in a slightly rural area which provides the most peaceful evenings on the porch. We enjoyed exploring the area knowing we were returning to this truly magical place.
Home was beautiful, had a comfortable layout, and was well stocked. The location was quiet, but still convenient to area attractions. Owners were responsive to inquiries. We had a lovely stay. Highly recommend and look forward to returning.
So much has already been written about this house, but it still does not prepare you for what you experience when you arrive. The inside and outside of the house are both gorgeous and the decorations are a beautiful. The hosts are super responsive, even for small questions. Everything you need is there, from high quality toiletries to kitchen equipment and a Weber BBQ. We stayed for 2 weeks and wish we could have stayed longer. The area is very tranquil, and at the same time Lancaster, with lots of restaurants and coffee shops, small theaters, concerts in the parks, is only 15 minutes away. A little longer drive brings you to Mt. Gretna beach for a nice swim, Strasburg rail, birds-in-hand to learn more about the Amish lifestyle or Sight & Sound for a visual theater spectacle. Highly recommended for anyone who likes a luxury home base while exploring the interesting area.
My wife and I stayed at the "general store " house for a few days along with our 2 dogs. Leigh spared no expense restoring this beautiful home, with the original wife plank flooring, servants stairs case, butlers pantry, etc but with high end appliances, furniture and bedding. The setting is very peaceful, having some coffee on the front porch and watching the farmers go to work. The grounds are well manicured and close to everything. 15 minutes to Lancaster, 10 to Wrightsville and the Susque
If you would like to stay in an amazing property with tons of character I’d recommend this place for you. The home brims with old world charm with its thick stone walls which continue on the interior of the house. We have stayed in stone farm houses in Tuscany, Italy and this home gave us that sort of vibe but mixed with the American elements you’d expect while in Lancaster. It is about a 30-35 minute drive from the main attractions in Lancaster but I would not let that detract from your choosing this property. It’s only minutes from a full and modern supermarket and the drive to Lancaster from the house is easy. We would definitely stay there again and would not hesitate to recommend this property to our friends. As nothing is ever perfect, if I had to give one criticism, that would be the smell in the attached sunroom. There was a bit of a musty smell in there but we opened the windows esche day and allowed the beautiful cross breeze to air out that room and as the days passed the smell lessened. It did not permeate the rest of the home and it didn’t affect our ability to enjoy the property. Early on in our stay we had an issue in which the electricity went out in the upstairs of the home. We messaged the home owner and he responded quickly and fixed the problem in no time. This is a unique property with an interesting history, lovely location, and tons of charm; if we are in the area again we would enjoy staying there in the future.
