Down-home comfortable is an understatement when describing the Tatanka Suite. The property appears exactly as advertised and was clean and well furnished. Check-in was the easiest I've ever encountered. North Park, the region that includes Walden, features mountain views in every direction, and the suite featured big windows that made for easy enjoyment of those views. A very pleasant stay,

We enjoyed the Tatanka suite at Eagle's Watch. It was just outside of Walden, CO and was very quiet with a view of the mountains. The suite had Native American decorations throughout, and the kitchen cabinets had numerous historic pictures of Walden on them. The suite was roomy with two bedrooms, although there were only two of us. It would be a nice place for a family or two couples. The only concerns we had were the couch not being that comfortable and a burner on the stove and an element in the oven not working. The owner's note in the suite did indicate that they were in the progress of making some improvements. We would stay there again when we go to the Walden area.

The property was not far from town, very quiet, and peaceful. Communication from host was minimal until the day before we were to arrive. Was a very easy check-in and check-out process. Would recommend to others.

Fishing trip

We were in Walden to go fish fishing. Beds were very comfortable. The couch is uncomfortable. Thank you for having everything I pretty much needed for cooking thanksgiving dinner

North Park area of Colorado

The property is clean and larger than it looks in the photos.Great mountain views. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Very close to small town of Walden, but off the beaten track. Pronghorn in the 'back yard.' Easy scenic drive to State Forest State Park.

What a lovely property! We were very pleased. Location made it close enough to town that essentials were a quick drive, but far enough away from town to be a "dark sky" situation. We spent nights stargazing from the back deck. We saw the Milky Way and lots of meteors, thank you Perseids! So pleased with this rental. Thank you!

We were there for wildlife viewing and on the 2nd morning we did not even have to leave before we saw a herd of pronghorn(with a baby) on the other side of the back fence! It is elevated and the views are fantastic. Location is close to several main intersections. You can tell the owner had fun decorating the unit. The decopage on the kitchen cabinets was fun with all the old photos of the pioneers and ranchers.

Comfortable Stay

This is a comfortable place to stay. Well appointed kitchen. Plenty of room. The beds are memory foam with not much memory of anything except very, very firm. Too firm for the Hubs and I. We both need a little softness on our 70+ year old joints. If we visit the area again, we would definitely stay here again, but we’d stop at the nearest WalMart for a couple of mattress toppers on the way! There are 3 or 4 places to eat in the tiny town of Walden. If you enjoy birding, the Arapahoe Wildlife Refuge and the large amount of BLM land are loaded with great sightings. Saw my first ever Prairie Falcon! Tons of hawks of various kinds, Sage Grouse, Grebes and so many migrating water birds on the small lakes and wetlands. The Ranger told us that in very wet years they often have Bald Eagle and Osprey. We did not see any but we were late in the year. Did see what could only be a Bald Eagle nest in a small group of trees in Arapahoe.

We really appreciated the open prairie setting, with views of the sunrises over the mountains to the east and sunsets over the mountains in the west. The western decor of the rooms is very well done, and the entire suite is comfortable. Both bedrooms are roomy, and the bathroom is nice and clean. Note that there is no dishwasher, although it wasn't a concern to us as we didn't really do any cooking except with the microwave, and it's easy to hand wash a few cups and plates. We wish there was a Keurig coffeemaker and/or a hot water pot, as the old drip coffeemakers never get the coffee or water very hot. I found it confusing to get communications from both VRBO and Expedia, so I wasn't clear on the check-in instructions a little confusing. The VRBO website says the host will send an email with specific check-in instructions other than the time of check-in and checkout; instead, the host put instructions in the My Trip section of one of the websites, which I did not realize that was where to look, and in many parts of northeastern Colorado, especially in the mountains, there is no wifi connection to be able to send queries on the day of check-in. I think it would help if the host could send an email at least the day before arrival with the instructions about how to access the front door.
