The cabin is in the woods. Amazing view of the Mountains and the sheeps right next door. Hundreds of beautiful sheeps . The cleaness is impeccable. And the hosts lovely people. If you go to Waitomo Caves and need a place to stay. Pick this for sure.

Lovely little rural stay — quiet, clean, and very comfortable. Great hosts with great local knowledge spots to visit and a perfect spot to relax away from the city. Would happily stay again.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in cabin 1. It was charming, clean, and exactly as advertised. The small kitchenette was perfect for our purposes (we had not intended to cook & instead done in the village); the fridge was nicely stocked for breakfast. The heaters worked well in both the main room and in the bathroom that’s just a few steps away across the porch (private). The bathroom is small but, again, perfectly sufficient. The location is breathtaking. The view from the porch across the valley is sublime, from dusk till dawn. We also loved walking down to the glowworm grotto on the property—a nice “private” supplement to cave tours nearby. Our morning hike in the area was also wonderful. The quiet and peace with only sheep and cows nearby (& the occasional farmer) can’t be beaten. We would return in a heartbeat if we returned for another visit to NZ. Highly recommended.

This cabin is in a beautiful location at the top of a hill. It’s best to give yourself a little time to get up the winding roads, especially if there’s fog. When we arrived, we were met by our host who is very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our conversation with him. He is a big LOTR fan so we had a fun time talking about filming locations and personal stories he had. The cabin is well appointed and we found the electric blanket and space heater were on when we arrived. There are some nice amenities for eating a meal, having coffee, and there’s cereal for breakfast. There is also a small fridge. Do bring any other food you want to eat because there’s nothing super close. We walked down the dirt path at night to view the glow worms and also had the chance to see lots of stars and the Milky Way. The private bathroom is just around the corner from the cabin, an easy 10 second walk and not spooky in the dark - it’s easy to turn on lights to find your way. It was clean, comfortable and warm. This place is very peaceful and homey and we would absolutely stay here again. It was a highlight of our trip.

We cannot say enough about this property. We were absolutely floored by the views, the hospitality, and the comfort. Angus is the best host I've ever interacted with. He was so welcoming, had great recommendations, and we loved talking to him. We also adored the onsite kitty!

Amazing views, the host was incredibly welcoming and happy to have a chat. The farm was beautiful and the walk to the pond was pure magic. Our kids loved the loft beds and the little lambs running around. Small touches everywhere with extra blankets and hot water bottles. Only wish we stayed longer to enjoy it a little more.

If you are going to visit the glow worms in the caves, this is the best place to stay as you can get to see your own personal glow worms at the sink hole a couple of minutes walk from your bed! A fantastic addition to the overall experience! There are also other things to see on the farm. Angus is a smashing host who loves to share!

The host/owner could not have been nicer! He was so friendly and hospitable. The property was to die for gorgeous! Take a short walk down to the Glowworm Grotto or wander along the sheep farm/property. This place was idyllic! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Te Tiro was a lovely place to get away and enjoy one of the most beautiful areas I have ever been. Our host was welcoming and accommodating and the cabin we stayed in was very comfortable. He showed us areas to walk around the farm and there is a pathway to an area to see glow worms a short walk from the cabin. The kitchen is well appointed and there is a bbq to use. To maximize your relaxation time I would note that the nearest grocery is ~30 min drive away, so best to come stocked.

Oh my the view!!! What a spectacular place. The cottages are very functional, warm and did I mentioned the view!!!! The grotto was very cool and my son adorned the animals. Angus I loved our chat and you were extremely welcoming. I wish I could have stayed for longer.

Up on top of a mountain surrounded by a farm. Incredible views. Angus gave us a warm welcome. 10 minutes from the glow worm caves. We stayed in cabin 1. Rustic. A short walk to a private glow worm grotto.

Wonderful surroundings. Warm and cosy in the bell tent even though rainy and windy outside. Lovely private glowworm grotto as well. Friendly host. Driveway is very steep and narrow at the start but sealed so not a problem. Highly recommended

A beautiful location and warm welcome from the host. The upstair beds were very small for an adult and probably more suitable for children. I'd also have appreciated a more eco friendly cabin - it would be helpful if there would be recycling bins and Eco friendly household products.

We were a bit concerned about sleeping in a tent in early New-Zealand Spring. Not to worry! We had not had such a comfortable night in weeks and slept close to 12 hours with the gentle sound of rain drops on the tent, in a cosy and warm bed. Breakfast in our cute kitchen was superb, thanks to the attention of our hosts. This was an amazing stay! Thank you!
