We love the Hawaiian Princess, have had great experiences both times despite some minor issues. The beach and coastline are gorgeous and uncrowded (btw that's an understatement), the view from the room and access to it are a few steps from the elevator in the lobby, and the rooms are comfortable if at times a little dated (LESS so for this unit).
That said, it's not for everyone. Good shopping is remote, dining options are limited, and the highway traffic can back up horribly at times. We'll still come back because it is so peaceful- sit on the lanai and watch the waves, whales, turtles, occasional surfer or sand castle builder; walk the beach, and we love the local hiking options. Someday I'm going to play the Makaha golf course too!
