This beautiful home boasts a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 1 half-bath with a wrap around porch is only 5 min to downtown, 7 minutes to Baylor and the Magnolia market and has plenty of parking on the property. This property can book from 2 guests to as many as 12 guests. This home can accommodate up to 4 families or about 10-12 guests comfortably. Please contact the owner to find out if there is availability for a smaller group (1-5 guests) in the Gorman Guest House at a lower rate. We are kid and pet friendly. Cribs can be provided upon request. The fenced yard has ample play space or room for entertaining large groups of people, big or small. Perfect set up for wedding parties too.

  • The Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas is a terrific zoo! The zoo has a great range of animals and exhibits and the grounds are well kept and spacious. There's lots of shade to keep you somewhat cool during those hot Texan summer months if you visit during that time frame. The animal enclosures are nice, and can really give you great views of the animals themselves if you are a bit patient. This also makes for great photo views, as shown here with this photo of an approaching jaguar. Food and snack prices are also very reasonable, as are prices for souvenirs. This zoo makes for a great day out for the family.

Wedding Family Weekend

Fixer Upper home from first season

The home is unique and spacious. It has all you need for an extended stay and rooms for everyone. The neighborhood has had a downturn but we had no problems at all. We enjoyed evenings watching passersby from the porch. We would stay again for sure.

Space enabled a memorable weekend!

This old house has character, creaking stairs included (that's a plus - if you grew up with them, you know what I mean), and lots of comfortable common space that was a wonderful gift for extended family members to gather and visit after a family wedding. Everyone slept well, all was in good order, and communication with the owner was simple, straightforward, prompt and helpful. A lovely weekend enhanced by the provision of this home!

Great Family Reunion Spot!

We had a family birthday celebration for a family member who lives in Waco and rented two adjacent houses from Charmaine. This house was the perfect place to get together to visit, play games and put puzzles together! It was also close to sites to go see. :) It worked out perfectly for the group! Thanks Charmaine!

Nostalgia

This was an annual sibling trip along with spouses - had a wonderful time! This house reminded us of our growing up in an older home on Tres Palacios Bay. This house has been beautifully restored by Fixer Upper. We especially enjoyed the front porch and were amused when a wine tour bus stopped for about 5 minutes as the house was on their tour route. The location is excellent and very convenient to the fine restaurants we dined at.

Perfect

We wanted the full Fixer Upper experience. As a group of 8 adults, this house had plenty of room and everything we needed. We loved getting to stay in the "Catastrophe" house from Season 1 Episode 2. Charmaine was a delight to work with and so welcoming. We would definitely come and stay again.

Love the main floor space. Open and very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Bedrooms were comfortable. While the tub/shower are indicative of the style/age of home. The showers were uncomfortable to use and small.

Loved this property!

This house was absolutely perfect for our girls getaway weekend! The location was close to all the things we were wanting to do without being too busy. We loved how many bathrooms there were! The third floor stairs are a little sketchy lol Beware of them after you've had a mimosa or two! The kitchen and living room were spacious and fit us all well. When we first arrived we were slightly taken aback by the surrounding neighborhood however we quickly realized it was all ok! Parking was a bit of a trick at times but we made it work! Our host was kind and responded quickly to our questions just before we checked in. Overall we loved it and would recommend for any large girls group getaway for sure!

Location cannot be beat

A group of girlfriends and I did a ladies weekend of shopping and celebrating, using Charmaine’s property as our homey hub. We were less than ten minutes from great attractions and restaurants such as Magnolia, Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, Fabled Bookshop, Hecho en Waco, and Pivovar. The kitchen was the best feature of the house, accommodating our morning coffee chats and the cooking we did. The island is huge and there were eight of us. The queen beds were very comfortable as well. A few things to be aware of: the stairs were crafted a hundred years, so use caution. The showers in one or two of the bathrooms are more ideal for nimble people, whose height is between 5 feet to 5 feet 11 inches 😂 They are claw foot tubs converted into showers. More cute than functional, but we managed. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

I'm in love with this house

I really love the house the extra amenities like water bottles, a fully stocked keurig, were really a chefs kiss on top. I LOVED the Fully Stocked kitchen. My whole family sat around the table and painted together after cooking and eating together. The whole place was sparkling clean and smelled great. My favorite place is the attic room. I want to live there forever. It feels like a perfect hide away. I woke up early and studied in the reading book. I taught my son to play battleship on the little wooden stage under the little windows. It was heaven. Such a good trip.
