Wedding Family Weekend

Great place to stay for our son’s wedding in Waco. We were able to have the guest house as well so plenty of room for all family members to spread out. The house is spotless and had everything we could need. Thank you!

Fixer Upper home from first season

The home is unique and spacious. It has all you need for an extended stay and rooms for everyone. The neighborhood has had a downturn but we had no problems at all. We enjoyed evenings watching passersby from the porch. We would stay again for sure.

Space enabled a memorable weekend!

This old house has character, creaking stairs included (that's a plus - if you grew up with them, you know what I mean), and lots of comfortable common space that was a wonderful gift for extended family members to gather and visit after a family wedding. Everyone slept well, all was in good order, and communication with the owner was simple, straightforward, prompt and helpful. A lovely weekend enhanced by the provision of this home!

Great Family Reunion Spot!

We had a family birthday celebration for a family member who lives in Waco and rented two adjacent houses from Charmaine. This house was the perfect place to get together to visit, play games and put puzzles together! It was also close to sites to go see. :) It worked out perfectly for the group! Thanks Charmaine!

Perfect

We wanted the full Fixer Upper experience. As a group of 8 adults, this house had plenty of room and everything we needed. We loved getting to stay in the "Catastrophe" house from Season 1 Episode 2. Charmaine was a delight to work with and so welcoming. We would definitely come and stay again.

The AC was a big issue. It was very hot when we arrived. We called the owner and they came out right away and worked on it for awhile but the temp on the second floor never got down to the temp we set. Top floor was unbearable so it was a useless room for two of us to sleep up there. It smelled like mold and no circulation on 3rd floor. AC on main floor worked great. Handle in one tub fell off; toilet in one bathroom wasn’t set and it moved; fans were all dusty. Vents too. Ice nor water worked in frig. The spindle rail was unsteady and should be fixed instead of telling guests not to use. We were very disappointed in the overall experience and thought at least the AC and the cleanliness of the house would have been top notch. The house smelled like mold and the tubs were dangerously for senior citizens. The furniture on the first floor was comfortable and due to the AC issues, one guest slept on the couch. But at least it was cool on the main floor. The house obviously needs some upkeep and maintenance. Charmaine was very pleasant and responsive and was always quick to respond and we greatly appreciated that. The listing on vrbo need to be updated though.

Nostalgia

This was an annual sibling trip along with spouses - had a wonderful time! This house reminded us of our growing up in an older home on Tres Palacios Bay. This house has been beautifully restored by Fixer Upper. We especially enjoyed the front porch and were amused when a wine tour bus stopped for about 5 minutes as the house was on their tour route. The location is excellent and very convenient to the fine restaurants we dined at.

Love the main floor space. Open and very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Bedrooms were comfortable. While the tub/shower are indicative of the style/age of home. The showers were uncomfortable to use and small.

Loved this property!

This house was absolutely perfect for our girls getaway weekend! The location was close to all the things we were wanting to do without being too busy. We loved how many bathrooms there were! The third floor stairs are a little sketchy lol Beware of them after you've had a mimosa or two! The kitchen and living room were spacious and fit us all well. When we first arrived we were slightly taken aback by the surrounding neighborhood however we quickly realized it was all ok! Parking was a bit of a trick at times but we made it work! Our host was kind and responded quickly to our questions just before we checked in. Overall we loved it and would recommend for any large girls group getaway for sure!

Location cannot be beat

A group of girlfriends and I did a ladies weekend of shopping and celebrating, using Charmaine’s property as our homey hub. We were less than ten minutes from great attractions and restaurants such as Magnolia, Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, Fabled Bookshop, Hecho en Waco, and Pivovar. The kitchen was the best feature of the house, accommodating our morning coffee chats and the cooking we did. The island is huge and there were eight of us. The queen beds were very comfortable as well. A few things to be aware of: the stairs were crafted a hundred years, so use caution. The showers in one or two of the bathrooms are more ideal for nimble people, whose height is between 5 feet to 5 feet 11 inches 😂 They are claw foot tubs converted into showers. More cute than functional, but we managed. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.
