"It has a been a great experience staying at Mai Phuong during our visit on Phu Quoc Island. Daily breakfast is included and the quality is excellent with lots of options. The resort is in the Northern park of the island along with other family run resorts and fisherman as neighbors. It is quiet and peaceful, but it is not too far away from the tourist attraction, Grand World, where you can find cafe, food, shopping and massage there. You can also take the bus there to explore the rest of the island. They have a tuk tuk shuttle service to take you to Grand World. Staff are nice, helpful and friendly. The beach is excellent and the addition of the swimming pool is a bonus. "

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The amenities were amazing, there were so many options and services. Buffet was amazing. View was amazing."

"Front desk staff were exhausted at times due to some of the counterproductive hotel policies which means everyone has to check in twice as they are not allowed to check anyone in before 3pm. They were apologetic and polite but many other customers seemed frustrated and it also meant There was always a constant queue and they didn’t seem to have many breaks as it was always the same front desk staff during our stay. Pros: they offer a 10% discount on your vin tickets. The bar staff are wonderful, friendly and make a great cocktail! We really recommend and enjoyed our conversations. (The food wasn’t great. Night caps only!) Cons: I suggest you use your check in day to arrive early and buy your vinwonders or safari ticket on day of arrival as on day of departure (even if it’s early in the morning) they won’t provide you with the 10% discount they offer which we had purchased before. We didn’t want to do the two parks in the same day (the safari isn’t feasible for most people unless you buy fast passes) and it closes at 4pm. They really have to be done on two separate days. The breakfast buffet was very hectic and unenjoyable. A lot of people pushing to get food an tea (there is usually a second buffet in the back of the area) and suggest you go for that one unless it’s close to the end of the buffet time. They are missing hot tea refills and milk so that is difficult if you need your morning caffeine. I wouldn’t book more than two days at this resort. "

"Great hotel with the most incredible staff"

"Zero service, bad food, tired rooms. Looks like hotel is catering to mass tourism package tours from Russia and China and makes no effort to provide any service or train personnel. English is almost non existent, except front desk. Staff untrained, unmotivated and try avoid contacts with guests. Ordering wine at dinner requires significant effort. Several calls to pick up laundry, and a few more to get it back. Limited alacarte menu. The buffet dinner was pretty bad both times we went there. On a positive side - great swimming pool and spa / gym facilities, but that’s it. Did I mention that during 7 days we were able to get beach lounger only once as most are occupied after 9am? Making people sign every bill twice is just another example of poor beaurocratic policies - mind you, they take your photo on check in for breakfast / dinner buffet, but for everything else you must sign twice and they often insist on closing the bill right away - the management clearly do not trust personnel to keep track of people eating / drinking to have single check in the end of the meal."

"This is a lovely resort with a nice swimming pool and a beautiful beach. We stayed in a two-bed room, which was spacious and well furnished. The balcony chairs were very comfortable and made the sea view even more enjoyable. Breakfast was good, and the dining area offered plenty of seating options. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only issue that affected our comfort was the air conditioning in the room — even on the lowest fan setting, the airflow was still too strong and couldn’t be adjusted to a gentler level. Thanks for everyone’s hard work!"

"The breakfast was delicious and very well prepared. Since the resort is not located on a busy street, there is almost no traffic noise, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, there was construction work next door during our stay. The neighbor started using an angle grinder at 7 AM, which was quite disturbing. When we entered our room, the bathroom was full of mosquitoes. The staff provided bug spray, which helped temporarily, but throughout our stay the mosquitoes kept coming back, likely through the ventilation system, even though we kept all doors closed. You can also hear neighboring guests quite clearly, as the walls are rather thin. The beach area was not as clean as we had expected. Additionally, the resort is located quite far from any larger cities or towns, so I would definitely recommend renting a bike to get around more easily."

"The bathroom was horrible and under construction. Not much soap was provided. Access to the location is difficult. Food and hospitality were good. "

"The hotel has a nice location - the staff are very friendly. But it is not maintained - everything was kind of just neglected. The water by the beach was horrible! Soooo much plastic! And only one little guy to clean up. We were not able to go swimming at all. Then there really is nothing to do in the area - because you are out in the middle of nowhere. The pool only had 16 sun beds for the entire hotel - and only 6(!) mattress! A joke! People were laying on the wood bed! Just buy some more! And EVERY night this woman comes and live perform"
