Cute place moments away from Volcanoes National Park

Stayed one night and it was perfect for getting to and from Volcanoes. Best times to get there are early and late. Layout is quirky but functional. Bring your own coffee and filters as neither are provided. I had coffee but needed to ask a restaurant we stopped at for a filter. Wish it had a grill because the town of Volcano is a ghost town at night. No AC but it gets cool at night. A dehumidifier would be helpful rather than opening the windows but at least the coki frogs aren't as bad as elsewhere on the island. Would totally recommend it but felt like more of a 1-2 night stop rather than a good place to make a week out of it.

Not as expected

We were given the access code to the adjoining unit until I pointed out the error. The unit rankled with bleach that did not dissipate. The WiFi and cable did not work and we’re told “it’s because the volcano was erupting” .Asked for a discount due to lack of internet and cable and was told definitely yet no credit was ever issued. There is no dishwasher in the unit even though it’s listed. Not worth the price. Don’t bother.
